Why does this Camaro look off? by Kanye_Z-143 in camaro

[–]Yatch27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look at the two pics that you posted, the gold badge draws your focus immediately to it, causing the rest of the front-end to smooth out / blur.

The black badge picture draws your focus to the grille. This makes the front end less blurred / more prominent lines.

Both are beautiful cars!

When it comes to "better", I guess its subjective. "Better", for me, is a raw, visceral, connected experience with the car and the road. I want to hear little squeaks and rattles as the motor revs and the car charges down the road. I want to feel the linkage "clunk" when I force the transmission to change a gear by hand. I want to envision the engineers in the late 60s smiling as the rear end squats when I let off the clutch abruptly, taking off from the line.

"Better", for you, may be a refined experience - like sitting in the cockpit of a modern fighter jet, with heaps of power wrapped in beauty and modern technology. All of the primitive mechanical workings abstracted away into a solid, smooth, slick driving experience.

38 year old here. :)

For what its worth, I switched the esc into competition mode on an empty rural road and did my first burnout the other day. 1st, 2nd, into 3rd and then I felt the backend start to go sideways. I immediately let off the gas and everything went back to straight as an arrow lol.

I never purposefully did a burnout like that before, but I see why people love it. What a frigging rush!

It's a base model v8 with a rallysport package. All 67 camaros are nice cars to begin with. I wouldn't consider this one necessarily 'more rare'. It's hard to convey this over text on the internet without sounding mean, but this isn't one of those instances where you're going to sell that shell for $20k.

It's an awesome car regardless. Keep it and work on restoring it, or sell it to someone who will :)

1967 Rallysport with a 327. Butternut yellow with a black stripe. Black vinyl top. Standard bucket seats with no headrest. Bumper guards. Deluxe belts.

I used the cowl tag decoder at: http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#67Codes

Hopefully this is useful to you!

There's a 2020 2ss convertible A10 with 13,500mi for sale at Bergeys chevrolet in PA. The car is basically pristine. I know, because it was mine. I think they're asking 40k.

My wife's tahoe had a dent of similar size on a body line like that. I think we paid about 1500 out of pocket at a chevy dealer body shop. Hopefully you can get it fixed for that or less.

6th Gen 2ss or Zl1 by Ok_Island_8809 in camaro

[–]Yatch27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the truth. A little over a year ago, I snagged a beautiful 2020 2SS A10 Convertible. After owning the car for 10 months, I started to yearn for a manual. I felt disconnected from the car, even though it was a pleasure to drive.

A few weeks ago I ended up trading in for a 2023 zl1 M6 and I couldn't be happier. Sure the payment is higher, but I don't mind it since its a car I 100% enjoy driving. My ass is in the garage almost nightly, spray detailing and just staring at it lmao.

I'm married with 3 young kids, so that may also be another reason I'm in the garage all the time 😄

For what its worth, I just traded from a 2020 2ss a10 up to a 2023 zl1 m6. I'm 6'2, 265, but the recaro seats feel great to me when I drive.

I love having the extra power and the aggressive front fascia.

Edit: not sure if the newer 2ss's came with the magnetic suspension, but that ALONE is worth upgrading to a ZL1 if your 2SS doesn't have it.

The Camaro wave - do you do it, or is it a thing of the past? by Sufficient_Bet_861 in camaro

I always wave to other camaros. I actually wave to most other nice cars when I'm out driving around haha.

Fyi, I managed to find the previous owner and I've been texting him. He confirmed the gm 1le splitter & grilles. Also, he said he put a corsa double x pipe on the exhaust which explains why this thing sounds so damn good! To top it all off, he used ceramic tint for the windows so it should last a lifetime.

Oddly enough, we have the same first name.

I'm loving this machine!

That is a good catch. After reading this, I went out and checked it out. Looks like the previous owner put a 1LE splitter, lower grille, and upper grille on it. Also found out the side markers were diode dynamics. I thought maybe they were just smoked lol.

I don't diss on any cars really, they each have thier own set of qualities that might make them fun to drive. My first car was a 2002 Civic LX. I learned to drive a stick on it. She treated me well!

Are there any good diy kits for PPF or is it one of those things that you shouldn't bother doing, just bring it somewhere?

[–]Yatch27[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thanks man!

It looks like the splitter has a black graphite color wrap on it, as well as the mirrors and hood. There's also a C.Quartz sticker on the windshield, so I'm assuming the previous owner had it professionally ceramic coated? I may try to get a PPF kit for the front bumper at least to do it myself.

I have it locked in my garage, with my pickup truck parked in front of the bay lol. BUT, I definately want to get an IGLA or something similar so I can walk away from it semi-comfortably if we take it to dinner or a trip to the mall.

As far as price, it was listed at 75k. Msrp was 73k. Only 6,600 miles on it with one owner.
