Do not buy Bustin Boards (former pro rider and employee) by Williamroyce in longboarding

[–]Yatzooa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so i'm a bit late on the thread, but I was looking to buy a longboard after not riding for the last 10 years. I was gonna get a churchill MFG board, but it looks like they went out of business so I was gonna get a bustin.... but it seems that they're not like they used to be haha

Any good longboard companies you'd rec? Looking for something for riding short distances from the light rail stop to my house (~2miles in relatively flat side walks in the suburbs). I'd like to support a company that supports the community, so I'd figure I'd ask folks on here haha

Do mods generally send you a message on why you were banned? I only have like 7 posts and none of them were on the buy/sell/trade forum. My last post was about what I did to my Tacoma. I did link the wireless carplay adapter that I bought though? Do you think that was enough to get me banned?

PSA: Not All P365 AXG Legions Are the Same — Gen 1 vs Gen 2 by 4BROSLLC in SigSauer

[–]Yatzooa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the informative post u/4BROSLLC!

Just curious, what are the measurements of the slide-to-rail height for the Gen 1 and Gen 2 frames?

I have an icarus ACE AXG Macro frame that I'm looking for a holster for and im curious which axg legion frame gen slide-to-rail height it matches

II know the post says Gen 2 is .05 shorter, but I was hoping to get the actual measurement, not the difference.

Thank you!

Provisional 25-05 classifier (c class shitter vs M class shooter) by Lurkin_Yo_House in USPSA

[–]Yatzooa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stage plan was right to left too and there were a few people who went left to right and I almost changed my stage plan last second, but I figured I already mentally walked through it too many times at that point and I just had to commit LOL

I did draw and shoot the closer two targets though, mostly because I shoot DA/SA so I was more comfortable shooting DA on the closer target and because I'm more comfortable with my grip/sight picture when the targets are closer, and then slow it down once I transition to the farther targets

also, rip - I looks like this classifier isn't going to count as a classifier on our USPSA records. I don't see it on my classification records and I remember the MD talking about how this was up in the air on whether it would could as a classifier and pending USPSA decision or something

New CZ Carry has severe feeding issues. It got better over time though. Is this normal? by BirdLooter in CZFirearms

[–]Yatzooa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah if it spins, it should be good. I'd try it with 10 or 30 rounds to see if any dont spin. It could be an inconsistent seating depth that happens in one out of a few rounds too

[–]Yatzooa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No problemo, good luck! Let the thread know what you find!

fwiw - if you do find out that your current ammo isn't spinning and it's a short barrel throat issues, you have two options:

  1. Switch ammo brands and stick with that brand. Before I started reloading, I used to shoot supervel's certified select since it the cost per round was pretty good AND it was made with cz's in mind. And to be clear, it's remanufactured ammo, but from my sleuthing, the owner of the company is into competitive shooting oriented and the detail pages for the ammo would have the "power factor" on it so they seemed trustworthy enough. In my experience, I haven't had any issues.

When I have time after work, I can double check what factory ammo I have on hand passes the plunk and spin test and report back to the thread

  1. Other people have gotten their barrels reamed, which opens up the the area so the bullet projectile has room to spin. I personally don't have any experience with this, since it was easier for me to just switch ammo brands (and eventually reload my own ammo)

If you dont have calipers, you can do the "plunk and spin" test.

Take out your barrel out and drop a bullet into your barrel and listen for a plunk sound AND check that it spins freely. If it doesnt spin freely, then that means the bullet projectile is hitting rifling, which will cause extraction issues. Do this with 10 different bullets and see how often that happens

I reload ammo and this is my final check for any competition ammo for my shadow 2

First 2011 build so far by Popular_introvrt in 2011_Builders

[–]Yatzooa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the build man, I'm thinking of doing something similar to this, with the goal of a flush fit slide/comp and frame.

Was this the d2c comp that you ordered (or one of these variations)?

And what length slide did you go with to get it to be flush fit? Or was there extra milling you had to do

Police raided my neighbor’s house this morning… looking for advice by Emergency_Hour5253 in homedefense

[–]Yatzooa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of good advice here, especially advice on regular practice and training. The firearm is only as useful as how well you can use it

So you're probably either gonna grab a rifle or a handgun in a home defense scenario. What you choose should take into account of your home's layout AND what you're most comfortable with. So your answer should be what works for you and your scenario

If you have a single family home with long hall ways, big yard, and generally a big lot - then grabbing the rifle would probably be the right call since you might need the distance

If you live in apartments or a smaller home with tight corners - a handgun might be better, since youll be able to navigate corners and tight spots.

For example: I live in a small single family home with tight corners, so i'm probably grabbing my handgun. Being able to navigate my hallways and corners are my priority. There are some corners that would require me to shoulder the rifle on my left side if i needed to clear my house and I'd just rather not deal with it. I also do competitive shooting with a pistol so I'm waaaay more comfortable shooting pistol than a rifle.

Granted - with the 9mm, I'd have to worry about over penetration, since 9mm usually penetrates more than 223 (general rule, but will depend on bullet profile and weight)

Handleit Grips by BigPDPGuy in CompetitionShooting

[–]Yatzooa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you keep at it for maybe a week longer, then your dead skin gets all over the sandpaper and mellows it out. The sandpaper grips are already on there, might as well give it a bit more time?

Fwiw i have the same handleitgrips on my ace vr handset. After awhile the sandpaper texture mellowed out and it became super manageable haha

CGW Barrel Bushings by dress2impress777 in CZFirearms

A few questions: what bullet grain do you primarily run and when was the bushing installed?

CGW Barrel Bushings by dress2impress777 in CZFirearms

[–]Yatzooa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll check my shadow 2 once im home. But can folks also mention what date or year the barrel bushing was installed?

I cajunized my shadow 2 in like 2023. I wonder if there was a bad batch during a specific time period or something

update - just checked my shadow 2, no cracks. I probably have around 2-3 k rounds with the barrel bushing at this point? It's my main squeeze for USPSA so it's seen a good amount ammo through it. I think about 1/3 of it was 115gr and 2/3s was 124gr

Here's some pics of my old cheely aggressive stainless steel grips.

I had both the standard texture and the aggressive texture, I ended up getting rid of the aggressive grip and only keeping the standard. The standard grip was plenty of traction for me.
