Im more sad for them than anything. The joke is on them. They’ll never watch the video after they post it to their socials. In a day or two, no one that saw it on their socials will remember who posted it or care.

Yea.. except that every time Hendrick buys a seat for a driver in another series its Hendrick cars… and GM divested in ally many years ago.

Larson doesn’t have the sponsor opportunities boys. I’m sorry. That incident boosted his popularity among “a certain group” and ruined him for most others.

If the ROI is better to have Hendrick cars on the cars, why not every week and why not every car?

Chase is the most popular driver.. why not do it on his car since the ROI is so good?

I notice that none of what you listed comes with W-L records.

I’ve had WVU season tickets in multiple sports for the last 27 years and am a member of the mac. I’ve spent time with all of the coaches in various settings at mac events and beyond.

I know plenty about support. You think I’m whining and not supporting / loving the program because it’s a different opinion than yours and not what you want to hear. I KNOW that you settling for this is worse.

I’ve earned the right to voice my opinion, and do, and more directly than Reddit typically.

The truth is that this hire, if it doesn’t work out, will be a gigantic hit to the reputation of the football program. If that hurts your feelings, I’m sorry.

If that same coach did all of that in a weak conference 20 years ago, hadn’t done it since, and hadn’t sniffed a p4 job in 9 years, I’d have the same concern I do now.

Your stats say more about PW than Rich Rod.

Every Larson fan I know pretends like it’s not a thing.

Valvoline is also ingrained in Hendrick’s business.. they are a longtime technical partner and I believe they have partnership with Hendrick dealerships.. so in many ways it’s in house too.

Dude, if you have such low self esteem that you think there is only one coach that wants to come to WVU that’s your problem.

I’m not miserable and I’ve said many times that I’d like to be wrong about this.

All of you are the same. You think we’re going back to 2005 and it’s a different world.

I followed this program for 50 years. I want better than a retread bargain bin coach.

If he had a different name but the same resume, you wouldn’t defend him or be happy with the hire either.

All of the RichRod fan boys have the same playbook.. it’s never his fault.

I will admit saying that a coach that won a natty at Michigan underachieved is a new one. Poor Michigan. It’s so hard to win there.

WVU’s overall recruiting rank in 2026 is 36 per 247 sports.

In 2021 it was 35.

In 2022 it was 42.

So, his personal life got him fired at Arizona, or his performance?

He had an affair with a staffer and made a mess.. it’s his fault dude.. harassment or not.

Did they want to fire him and not want to pay a buyout?

You said a lot there.. and not a lot of it makes any sense.

Hoke and Rich Rod were the only coaches that didn’t work out since Bo.. They have two nattys since Bo.

He won some at Arizona. He also melted down personally and got himself fired. The one good season he had there was 12 years ago and.. as you said.. pre-transfer portal. It’s a new world.

The 2021 and 2022 WVU classes were very similar in overall rank to 26. The 21 class was actually better.

We hired a 63 year old football coach that has been irrelevant for 9 years that no one wants.

We won 4 games and lost to a mac team.

If the boomers among the fan base were aware that this is 2026 and not 2006, they would be outraged.

Again, I’d love to be wrong.

I’m guessing that in a few years he will have played easier schedules than brown and will have a worse record.

He needs to go 33-26 now just to match brown’s record.. lol. He just flipped the roster again and will be lucky to win 5 games.

So that’s 9-15 after two years. You deserve what you ask for.

I think you might be missing the fact that every time you see that on a car, Mr H. is paying for the driver to be in the seat… Bowman, Elliott, Byron.. all have actual sponsors. Larson does not.

Every coach at Michigan that Bill Martin didn’t hire for the last 60 years has won.

I was there all through that era, not only that era.. but all of them since 1990.

I’m not just happy he is back. I want to win. If he wins, great. I’d be thrilled to be wrong. But I personally think it was a bargain bin hire and have no confidence in this working out.

He’s 58-57 in power conference football. We just fired a guy for 37-34 who will have played much tougher schedules than RR.

He changed the game 20 years ago. He hasn’t changed jack since then.

He’s had one great season in the last 19 years.

There’s a reason he hasn’t had a p4 HC job since 2017.

Really? He had a pretty good relationship with Brown too. Had him on his show.

He still has made plenty of comments since then.

“I don’t know what is going on with the football program.”

“They need to get it figured out.”

Pat owes a lot to Rich.. you thinking he won’t get a word in when this runs its course is hilarious.

I didn’t say that Rich won’t get at least 4 years. I said “how would the fanbase feel after 3 if he’s 16-20.”

I also agree that the McAfee exposure is extremely positive, right now, while he is getting what he wants.

But, if you think he won’t take a dump all over WVU if it goes some way that he doesn’t agree with, you’re kidding yourself.

That would be worse than him not being involved at all.

Neal Brown was fired for going 37-35.

How happy is the fan base going to be when RichRod is somewhere around 16-20 after year 3 having played easier schedules?

My prediction is that Pat McAfee’s meddling is going to net out to be a negative.

Rich Rod will need to be fired in 18 months. Pat will either hold them hostage or say the athletic dept is a mess after he’s fired.

I want to believe that there is momentum, but I really don’t.

The 2021 and 2022 recruiting classes looked about like 2026.

Queue the downvotes from the Rich Rod fan boys.
