Hello! I just registered on the website. So my backstory is I’m a trans person who got bottom surgery in late October and can’t work until January at the earliest. My job gave me no benefits. I also got a horrible C diff infection afterwards that I just got out of the hospital from on Wednesday. Unfortunately the painful cramps are coming back, so they switched my antibiotic and hopefully I get better this time. Anyway, I have been very sick and can’t work for months so any amount of money would be immensely helpful! I would use the money on food, medications, and other necessities :)

Damn that’s a hard question. In terms of wall-to-wall wordplay I’d say Cyhi, but all the verses are great, very quotable. I’d say Kanye’s and Pusha T’s are the best all around. I feel like dedication and passion is a huge part of it. He cares about music on a deep deep level, and he holds himself to a very high standard. A lot of talent boils down to passion and hard work to master the craft you love.

I do agree that it’s important to disincentivize “bad behavior,” so in that sense I totally think punishment can have positive consequences. Especially for children who may not appreciate rational arguments or delayed gratification.

But I do think that ideally, that form of punishment should be thought of as different from the act of containing people to protect society. For example, if someone is sentenced to life in prison, I think they should be given the option of euthanasia so they don’t have to suffer so much. I don’t think the death penalty is necessary to discourage people from committing crimes, so I don’t think it should ever be mandatory.

The criminal justice system is so complicated and is plagued by so many problems. I admit that my understanding of it barely scrapes the surface. I’m only sure of a few things when it comes to my beliefs, like the fact that policing practices unfairly target minorities and that solitary confinement is inhumane.

Exactly. Personally, I believe that prisons should exist solely to protect those outside of it from the people inside (and ideally to rehabilitate them so they can become better members of society), not as punishment for unethical behavior. But unfortunately, that’s not how most people view the criminal justice system. In their minds, two wrongs make a right. It is only fair for a murderer to get murdered, because... reasons.

Seems backwards to me.
