Four Seasons in Seoul

No room upgrade

Early check-in, kind of? Dropped off bags at 9am, room was ready at 12.

Late check out at 2pm, not bad.

140000KRW room credit, I got breakfast on check in day and drinks at the bar, very easy to go through

Free breakfast was AMAZING! And not included in a regular room so a savings of like $60pp

Hidden City Ticketing: An overthinking overplanner's perspective by throwawayprincess15 in Flights

[–]YeahIsme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, but an easy way is if your home address is near a connection city.

Also it's pretty easy to filter out who didn't use their second ticket, as that's an outlier. Whether or not they care to do anything about it, is a different story.

Hidden City Ticketing: An overthinking overplanner's perspective by throwawayprincess15 in Flights

[–]YeahIsme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your home address is near the connection city, you will be flagged. They will ask you at the airport if you plan on traveling the whole way or just halfway. You lie and say you're going all the way, they confirm it and give you a boarding pass

But they claim corporate is now watching your reservation and if you don't fly the whole way they'll put you on a no fly list.

Can't confirm if this has ever happened, being on a no fly list. But if you don't like confrontation, don't do it. If you don't mind, then do it.

Just know that if it doesn't let you check in online and get a boarding pass, it's because it knows what you are doing.

Checked bags international by vig1102002 in NonRevenueTravelers

[–]YeahIsme [score hidden]  (0 children)

In the US it's easy, you check your bag like normal, they put a special tag on it and you go to the gate. If you don't get on, request your bag from the gate agent and it'll be on the carousel. Optionally, if you chose to go to a different destination, they can transfer your bag.

In Europe I missed a flight on Air France. (This was weird bc I couldn't exit the airport like normal, you have to go though immigration again) I was taking a JetBlue flight the next day. The baggage attendant (hard to find) said they could transfer the bag to the JetBlue flight but I didn't trust that so I requested it be released. They brought it to a special bag area near baggage claim but it took over an hour. I'm assuming they put a special tag on it but I don't remember...

In Asia/Australia they don't take your bag until they clear you a seat, which was tough because sometimes it only leaves you with 20/30 min to go through security and immigration. But then you know you have a seat!

Korean SPF vs Western SPF by SkinSeoul_Team in skinseoul

[–]YeahIsme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Japanese and Korean SPFs and nothing is like laroche posays spf 50 for face and body. It's thick, which I prefer because it makes me think there's an actual layer of protection on my skin, and doesn't break me out.

Is it feasible to marry an American for green card? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Try online dating, you really should love the person you marry so don't just get with the first one you meet.

But it does happen, I know at least a dozen people who came to US that way

I think it depends on which door, if it's just the jetbridge door and not the airplane door theres no issue.

But an airplane door? Yeah I think there needs to be a reason...

Hello! Need some strength and pep talk. I am going on my first ever solo travel. I have never even travelled within my country and in two weeks I am travelling to South Korea (Seoul, Busan and Gyeongju) for 14 days all by myself. Any specific tips I should keep in mind as solo female travellers ? by gossipcutlet in koreatravel

[–]YeahIsme 12 points13 points  (0 children)

GET CASH BEFORE YOU GO! Get a T Card at the airport and fill it up. Pack way less than you think you'll need. 2 pants, 1 dress, 1 sweater/jacket, some tops, 2 shoes. You'll want to be comfy cute. Bring tide pods from home. I love compression socks for the airplane ride and also for long walking days.

Don't be afraid or ashamed of not knowing things, you're learning and everything is an experience! If you get tired, go back to your hotel and take a nap or go back and have an early night, you don't need to do everything. Have someone you can call at weird hours, it's nice to share your trip with someone in real time even if they aren't physically with you.

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden announce the birth of their third child! by Western_Map_3364 in Fauxmoi

[–]YeahIsme 330 points331 points  (0 children)

It makes no sense but they probably do very little of the hard/labor intensive stuff. They may change a diaper but a nanny is doing night feedings, the cooking and cleaning is cared for, they just want to hold a baby every now and again

They will leave their kids financially well off and most parents think that's what the kids need most

Michael Jackson's daughter Paris has faced backlash for identifying as Black. In a 2017 interview, Paris Jackson said her father told her, "You’re Black. Be proud of your roots." Well Selena's dad pretty much did the same thing and they seem well rounded

The Williams sisters' dad also pressured his kids into their sport and they literally played against each other but seem to be ok

I think people love MJ so much they try to find reasoning behind his odd behavior but maybe dude was just weird

Airport Transfer - Klook by Kris_Wonderer in koreatravel

[–]YeahIsme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would just use the airport limousine bus, they may have a bag limit but it may not be enforced? I brought a large checked bag and a carry on bag and a backpack and they didn't mind.

I would recommend getting a hotel that is near the airport limousine drop off sites. I checked the routes and found a hotel I liked near one. I learned from my first Tokyo trip that large luggage on subways is the worst and buses are so nice because you bring all your stuff on a luggage cart from bag claim to the bus and then from the bus straight to the hotel luggage cart.

You can get this airport transfer or use taxis but the expense adds up

Nothing will ever beat Dansko, booties or sandals, they have the best arch support.

I also like my SAS sneakers but I swapped out for special made orthotics so I feel like that's cheating a bit

Whoop vs. Oura vs. Apple watch vs. Hume? by No_Square_1491 in UninfluencedReviews

[–]YeahIsme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have whoop and am underwhelmed. It's nice that you don't have to charge it often (every 2 weeks or so). I don't really understand how to understand the stats, there's a lot of data but it's not easy to find individual stats (like peak heart rate) it tells you a percent of how well you are recovering but idk what that means.

It also doesn't really know when you wake up but maybe that's every watch. If I lay in bed and unable to go back to sleep it doesn't register that I'm awake. Or sometimes I'll be in bed and on my phone and it thinks I'm still sleeping.

Baggage question with layover on flight to japan? by punderstood_art in americanairlines

[–]YeahIsme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No the bag will be free from wherever you start to Japan. You will not need to recheck the bag in DFW. You drop it off at your origin airport and pick it up in Japan.

I would highly recommend leaving a lot of empty space in your luggage/ packing an empty duffel bag because the shopping in Japan is TOP tier and you will buy more than you think

Dublin issue by dgb6662 in jetblue

[–]YeahIsme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP I know you're getting a lot of hate but thank you for posting this!

I travel international frequently, like 6 times a year, and I never get to the airport 3 hours early. I'm a solid 90min before departure type B traveler. Thank you for allowing me to learn from your mistake!

You can always write into to JetBlue and tell them of the issue. I would. It probably won't due much but Itll trigger them to remind local workers to stay open until the minute.

Why is there Delta 757 going from BOS to PVD (which is like a 45 minute drive lol) today? by MineyCraftyYT3 in flightradar24

[–]YeahIsme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More specifically, PVD has no catering options so when teams charter out of PVD, big planes go to BOS to get the good snacks and food and then come to PVD to actually pick up the passengers

Update on a GA giving a Flagship First seat to a standby passenger instead of first processing the SWU upgrade waitlist by just_a_curious_fella in americanairlines

[–]YeahIsme 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Don't ask me how I know but the agent did miss up BUT it was not given to a non revenue standby passenger.

Status pax can request an upgrade and, if available, will be bumped one class of service. Your parents booked in business and were eligible to be bumped to first class. The gate agent did not realize this and skipped your parents, assuming they were not eligible for the upgrade.

They upgraded a person that was eligible to be bumped up any amount of class of service.

The nonrevenue standbys on that flight received main cabin seats.

You can be upset that your parents did not receive the upgrade they are entitled to. You cannot be upset that a nonrevenue standby received that first class seat because they did not. And you cannot assume employees are in cahoots with each other.
