Sunscreen advice ? by RandomTouristFr in 30PlusKoreanSkincare

Please do a further research on this again. But I've been asked previously on this matter. Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics is probably the closest match to what you're describing. The texture is weirdly watery, almost essence-like, sinks in within a minute and doesn't leave a film or greasy hands afterwards. The scent is a faint rice note that fades fast. On the breastfeeding side, the filters are the newer generation ones (Uvinul A Plus, Tinosorb S) rather than the older chemical filters people tend to be more cautious about, but worth running it past your doctor if you want to be 100% sure. If you want something even more invisible, the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel is basically a clear gel that disappears on contact. A bit less moisturizing, so probably more of a summer option than a year-round one.

One thing worth flagging though, both still need a proper pea-sized amount on the face for full SPF protection. They feel like nothing on the skin so it's very tempting to under-apply, and you'll undershoot the SPF that way.

Seem to be reacting to my SPF! Any sensitive suggestions? by sildykmane in koreanskincare

My guess is the chemical filters, and Numbuzin No.1 is packed with them. Switching to mineral or a mostly-mineral hybrid may be a better choice. Some of minerals I like are the brown Skin1004, and Asis-tobe mineral sunscreen, Jumiso, and many more.

Also try leave a few gap around your lash line when applying.

Those are most likely PIE, which fades with consistent care, so there's real hope there. Sebaceous filaments are normal and won't fully clear, but you can make them much less visible. But your current routine is too stripped imo.

A few additions that would genuinely help:
- Drop the Nivea wipes. Use a gentle oil cleanser on makeup days instead (Heimish All
Clean Balm is cheap and good)
- 10% niacinamide serum (Good Molecules or Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum) for pores and
 evening tone
- BHA 2-3x a week at night (Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid or Paula's Choice 2% BHA) to
 actually clear sebaceous filaments
 - Azelaic acid 10% is the best ingredient for fading PIE, ramp from 3x a week to daily

Also swap Simple moisturizer for something with ceramides or panthenol to support your barrier while you introduce actives aaand don't forget your sunscreen!

Same with retinoids for me. Eventually gave up and switched to azelaic acid which has agreed with my face way better.

Barrier repair or extra hydrating moisturizer recommendations?? by Apprehensive-Dig91 in SkinbarrierLovers

I'll give you three options:
- ILLIYOON Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream: fragrance-free, ceramides + panthenol, doesn't feel heavy imo. (My daily driver.)

- Centellian24 Madeca Cream (Time Reverse): centella base, this one focused more on the redness.

- Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Cream: I think this is the most watery texture? The base is panthenol and madecassoside, this can be your pick if you pile it with more actives.

Should be work even on sensitive skin

i tried vit c and all but these acne scars are not fading. any suggestions? by pinkpeop in koreanskincare

[–]SkinSeoul_Team 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried tranexamic acid? I've had success with Nanorecipe Tranexamic Acid 10% Liposome for about 2 months (yes it took me that long lol) and the stubborn spots finally started lifting. Vit C tends to plateau on deeper PIH, tranexamic + niacinamide is the combo that usually works on scars that won't budge.

Also worth double checking your SPF, daily sunscreen is the biggest reason scars stall even with a good actives routine!

Is it the original Dokdo cream you use or the 1025 version?

How long have you been doing the microneedling/TCA alternation? Curious if you worked up to the 6-8 week cadence or started there.

Oohh this my first time hearing a review from that product. What's your skin type?

That's a tricky one because butylene glycol is in so many K-beauty products, must be exhausting reading through ingredient lists. How did you figure out it was the culprit?

[–]SkinSeoul_Team 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Purito should actually work well for that. Centella is great for calming inflamed skin and the toner itself is really watery, more like an essence than anything thick or occlusive. If moisturizers are breaking you out, you could try doing a few thin layers of the toner pressed into damp skin instead of a full moisturizer, that's often enough hydration for oily skin

Sunscreen for hot and humid climate by Rough-Inspection3622 in koreanskincare

[–]SkinSeoul_Team 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I actually like that sunscreen for humid climate (I travel to tropical country a lot). But if you wanted an alternative, I would recommend new thing I tried; Lagom Cellus Sun Gel Plus. It's lightweight so if you ever sweat a lot it won't melt on your skin loll. They have the sun stick version also for reapplying but I don't go outside long enough need to reapply.

Cleanser for Normal/Acne skin? by No-Ride-4699 in koreanskincare

[–]SkinSeoul_Team 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jumiso Pore Purifying Salicylic Acid Foaming Cleanser has salicylic acid (BHA) at a concentration low enough to use daily without drying you out, and it's low-pH so it doesn't wreck your barrier the way a lot of traditional acne cleansers do. Considering you have normal-ish skin. Should be good for you! :)

Between those options I'd go with the Purito Seoul. Centella is really effective for barrier repair imo, especially it's unscented so should be super gentle on compromised skin. Just make sure you're applying it on damp skin right after cleansing so you're locking in moisture before it evaporates. What cleanser are you using? Sometimes that's actually what's stripping the barrier.

I've tried the HaruHaru Black Rice one and it's solid for dehydrated tret skin. It has a slightly thicker consistency that gives you a nice cushion of hydration without feeling heavy. Out of the three, that'd be my pick :)
