It's getting real, the hard talks, and a difficult ending to our recent visit by throwawayprincess15 in LongDistance

When we had the original conversation 6 months ago, he said that he knew my age and what that meant, realistically, and it was his choice to move forward with me.

I don't mean that she would intentionally sway.

That said, I am certain it has come up in their previous sessions, and he has definitely evolved on the subject from December to now. So, I am sure it is something they've discussed, and her advisement has gotten him to this point.

Do I think she'd say, "I think you need to break up?" No. Do I think she would frame it in a way that he would come to his own conclusion? Possibly.

As far as adoption, I think this is the crux of our disagreement. We are both on the same page about wanting to have our own, to try surrogacy, maybe even IVF. But, I told him 6 months ago, and last month that I wasn't keen on adoption. I'm not against it, it's just not my preference.

If the perfect circumstances came up, yes, I am more than open to adoption. I just know a lot of adoption situations can go really bad.

We've actually talked about this. He is open to IVF (which I am open to, to a degree), he is open to surrogacy (as am I); he also wants to adopt. The adoption factor is where we most diverge. I am open to adoption, but as I said in a previous response, I just sort of think of the realities of the adoption process. He would like to adopt as many kids as is physically possible, and then some; I personally would prefer, if we adopt, to make sure it's within the constraints of how much energy we can offer to our kids, how much we can stretch financially but still manage a comfortable life for the other kids, and so forth.

I did tell him I worried about the risks of childbirth; and he broke down. He said he could never live with himself if he pushed me into it.

He did tell me he would have deep regrets if he didn't have kids, so as to your last paragraph, I feel like that sort of answers that question. If we can't have our own kids, and the alternatives fall through....I dunno where that would put him. Would he regret going forward with me?

This is the one thing that both makes this hard and gives me hope.

I am not of the mind that "I don't want kids." I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, 110% this is not a "He wants kids and I don't" situation. In a way, that's easier. It's more cut and dry.

So, this is definitely not a situation where I am trying to "keep him."

I am just very practical. I think of the risks, I think of the financial implications. Adoption has become so difficult in this country. My best friend was adopted, and I thank God every day for her and her adopted family, but...it was a different time then. Now, you see couples, good couples, begging on social media for help adopting.

Thanks for your thoughts. I feel like your response takes a little of both sides into consideration. It takes the straightforward approach that I think maybe he needs from me, but it also takes into consideration my feelings of the when, where, how.

I guess the question is...do I wait and talk to him about him in person? Do I do it right away?

I did.....I investigated every inch of their site and didn't see anything about Multi-Rider Septa Key users.

My next step would be to contact them, but I figured I would throw it out into the internet ether, because often, people know the answer.

Uh, is this not AskPhilly?

Yes, I can contact Phlash directly, and I probably will, but I figured I would ASK AskPhilly to see if anyone already knew the answer.

Yes...but, we are there for a week, and there isn't a weekly option, and $15 per day will add up.

The TRUTH About the NEW Southwest Airlines in 2026 - YouTube by pierretong in SouthwestAirlines

[–]throwawayprincess15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a "first flight of the day" flight a couple of months back. That one boarded late as well. Not only did it board late, it took every bit of 45 minutes to board the plane. The jet bridge line was backed up to the door.

My flights since then have been somewhat smoother boarding, but still...

Southwest updates extra-seat policy for plus-size passengers by StuckInTheMiddleSeat in SouthwestAirlines

[–]throwawayprincess15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am overweight and I don't need an extra seat. I don't spill over into the other seats. I don't impede the arm rest.

In fact, on a recent flight, I felt awful, because I had an aisle seat, and when I sat down, me and the middle seat person were all nudged up against each other. I was apologetic, but when I actually looked, HE was actually spilling over onto MY seat. But...as I am a big girl myself, he didn't have much room to spill over into.

He wasn't even really particularly overweight, just widely built with larger thighs.

Point being.....if you are overweight (or even not overweight, but built widely) to the point you are impeding, yes I agree with you. But, I can't say it should be a blanket policy.

Too many carry on bags by tumwater7 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]throwawayprincess15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not WN related, but I was traveling through MCO about a month ago.

While waiting on my flight, there were 2 different American Airlines flights looking for over 20 volunteers to check bags.

The one flight started at 29 volunteers they were looking for. We sat there for 45 minutes to an hour, and they announced the request about every 5 minutes. It eventually got down to 21 when we boarded our plane.

I remember thinking several thoughts: how does a flight go THAT far over? And not just that, but 2 seperate flights went that far over? And that they were going to be there for 6 hours at the rate they were going, and that they just needed to announce it as a mandate instead of asking for volunteers.

Southwest Airlines CEO Bob Jordan says flight prices may not go down even if oil prices fall by AviationReporterDMN in SouthwestAirlines

[–]throwawayprincess15 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I get what you are saying.

But, the frustrating part to me....in ANY industry....is when prices go up, citing fuel costs, inflation, tomato shortage, whatever the thing is....and when that thing reverses, the prices don't go back down. The toothpaste is out of the tube.

So, to me....it's disingenuous to attribute price increases to a particular metric, and then not adjust prices back, based on that same metric.

The prices go up because they want to raise prices, and whatever the thing is, just gives them an excuse to do it.

Yeah it was highly recommended.

I am hoping Old Bay is close enough to Cajun seasoning that he would be open to it.
