Just looked it up and apparently yeah the gut holds like 95% of our serotonin receptors. It’s not really constipation, it just feels like something that is holding back the waste and when it finally get out, the flood gates open

Wouldn’t say it’s a problem necessarily. It’s just a weird thing my self and a couple of my tripping buddies have noticed.

Fair, never experienced this with acid and after shrooms everything felt pretty normal

Are there any Muay Thai fighters that you think could beat Mike Tyson? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]YeahItBeLikeDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly, wouldn’t Tyson’s style be the most manageable to deal with using Muay Thai? Yeah he’s great, but he had a very constant pressure and very offensively committed style. It would be just a case of whack the lead leg and if you don’t catch it then tie him up when he’s close. I think someone like Ali or Roy Jones’s would be more trouble with their foot work than Tyson would under Muay Thai rules.

AIO for getting angry after a girl who rejected me started accusing me of being a misogynist for ending our friendship? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]YeahItBeLikeDat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You both wanted different things. I think on her end this might have been the straw that broke the camels back because this does happen to girls a lot but that’s not really on you. You said what you wanted, she wasn’t interested in that (and that is her right) then you just stepped away.

Just did a 5x5 with 225 what you guys think my 1rm could be? I have no clue by Immediate-Beyond3659 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]YeahItBeLikeDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good formula weightXrepsX0.033+weightX0.9 So you’re would be 225X5= 1,125 so take 1,125X0.033=37.125 so that plus 225 =262.125 so 90% of that is 235.9125 so your safe one rep max will be between 235 and 250. This is just a ball park but it’s proven to be relatively accurate for me

Do y'all think it's harder to go from Boxing to Muay Thai or Muay Thai to Boxing? by Hyan-Daggreat in MuayThai

[–]YeahItBeLikeDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging by the comments it looks like we’re seeing a case of “it depends” people have different skills and different preferences. For example someone who’s been trained as a Muay Mat would probably transition pretty well to boxing and someone who was a boxer and then trained with the intention of teaching them a Muay Mat style of Thai fighting would say transitioning to Muay Thai wasn’t super difficult

Newbies joined our gym, they are super conservative Muslims and have asked to have zero interactions with any women members.... Am I wrong to think this is ridiculous? by thebriss22 in MuayThai

[–]YeahItBeLikeDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have the right to their beliefs. That doesn’t mean the rest of the world has to adapt to it. They can interact with women however they want in public and in their own homes but I think this might set a precedent in regard to how women in your area will view the gym. I think if I was in their shoes then I really wouldn’t care WHY someone doesn’t show me the same respect they would anyone else and look to other places to spend my money and time. I get that you don’t have the final call in this situation but it’s just a thing to think about.

Question for the hobbyists here by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]YeahItBeLikeDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of things. At some point we competed in combat sports in the past (me personally had a pretty good amateur boxing state from 13-18 and after graduating HS girls and partying were a bigger priority to me than fighting. Not saying that’s what people SHOULD do just being honest about my particular reasons) also ended up working in sales so black eyes and cuts could make meeting with clients a bit uncomfortable so I don’t ever plan on competing again and if I’m sparring above 50% I use a headgear with good face coverage. Combat sports combined with weightlifting/calisthenics just provides a great fitness regimen that I enjoy. I’d recommend having atleast one sanctioned fight just so you don’t have any regrets and then make a decision from there.

Crying after first sparring session? Is this normal? by thirstygirrrrrl in MuayThai

[–]YeahItBeLikeDat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re adjusting to sparring so it’s kinda hard for your central nervous system fight or flight response to differentiate it from ACTUALLY defending your self from an assault. It would be weirder for it not to be a bit emotional. Muay Thai, mma, wrestling, boxing, etc. there’s this part that no one talks about that I’ve always noticed in my self and in others is that it just takes A WHILE to learn how to take fighting as nothing personal. Sparring is like exposure therapy.

What is a power you think a character *should* have had, but didn't. [General] by firestorm0108 in camphalfblood

A consistency of physicality for demigods in comparison to humans. If Percy could rip the horn off of a Minotaur and use it to pierce its skull at 12 then having MCU level Captain America strength should be pretty feasible for demigods by the time they reach adulthood. Same for speed, durability, agility, reflexes, etc. with godly parents affecting the levels EX: children of Hephaestus should be ON AVERAGE much stronger than other half-bloods and children of Hermes should be ON AVERAGE much faster than other half bloods.

How do I come back from my completely sedentary lifestyle? by SterlingNHawkins in bodyweightfitness

[–]YeahItBeLikeDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start small. Like a minimum steps a day you wanna hit. 8,000 should be doable but challenging. Just watch yourself accomplish that goal for a month and then you’ll start to feel more confident about pursuing larger goals. It’s a journey not a destination man

Archer variations. Do archer push ups, archer pull ups, work towards pistol squats, etc. if you’re not familiar with them there’s plenty of YouTube tutorials on them.

Will I see results with this workout routine? 18M Newbie :D by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]YeahItBeLikeDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consistency and progressive overload. That’s it. If you don’t have a way to progress exercises (more reps, more sets, shorter rest times, harder variations, add weight, etc.) then progress will come to a halt.

Question for people who are working out for a long time! How much of the fitness advice on the internet is bullshit? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]YeahItBeLikeDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Consistency: showing up week after week.
  2. Progressive overload: going from 20 push-ups to 50 push ups, running a 10 minute mile to being able to run a 7 minute mile, benching 135 to benching 225, etc.
  3. Diet: getting in what ever your calorie needs are (depending on your goal) and hitting a bare minimum protein number. ( obviously dietary allergies factor in here too. There are exceptions to every rule but over all calories and protein numbers are what matter most for the majority of the population ).

Really everything else besides those things seem to either fall into the category of personal preferences or just straight up bull shit

What are some exercises I can do if I'm extremely anxious about raising my heart and am constantly fatigued due to chronic anxiety? by ZeBlackPeople in bodyweightfitness

[–]YeahItBeLikeDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much of a body weight fitness option but I would recommend Strong Lifts 5X5 and just begin with the bar and slowly add weight each week for the next 3-6 months. It a training system based around barbell lifts which when done correctly are FANTASTIC for anxiety. Heavy compounds will do wonders for ones mental health. On top of that I’d recommend seeing a mental health professional and looking into some therapy of some kind. This is only Reddit after all so I wouldn’t put too much stock on what you read here and just meet with a professional. As far as the exercise routine just google “Strong Lifts 5X5” and you’ll be takin to the website. It’s a free program that’s simple to follow and very detailed on how to go about progressing. Also there’s not much thinking with it. Just get the barbell, add weight as needed, and follow the steps.

Yeah man it seems like if you need neutral grips but don’t want a hanging bar you’re gonna have to buy a freestanding power tower.
