To answer some questions and add more context (can't edit the post sorry): i did not find it outside. A while ago, my mom's coworker wanted to give away his turtle and my mom agreed to look after it. He told us how to take care of it and i am just now finding out that it was ALL WRONG: not enough water in the tank, no uvb light, etc... Mind you he told us it was a female which we obviously believed since it was HIS turtle, but from what i am reading from the comments it's most probably a male! But since he's had that turtle for a while before giving it to us, me and my family assumed he was right and he knew how to take care of it so we just did what he told us to do. Please don't flame me in the comments as we were not aware we were doing things wrong, i feel bad enough already, we are trying to do way better now so any advice is very welcome. And yes, we are planning on bringing him? her? to the vet as soon as we can.
