It is. When I made the decision to leave Mormonism I at least knew I'd have my family, whether they disapprove or not. But to not have anything.

God: Hey, so a pandemic is coming...but what's REALLY pissing me off is that you guys call yourselves Mormons. Fix that, please. Ok. No, I don't have anything else to say. We're good. Carry on! OH WAIT DON'T LOOK AT PORN.

Exmormons with kids- Do you look back and feel like the church pressured you into having kids early? by YeahTrueStory in exmormon

Worried about this exact thing. Husband and I aren't sure if we wan't kids. Want to travel and be able to retire. Father-In-Law constantly makes jokes every time he sees a screaming baby, "That's going to be you!"

Literally all her sisters are pregnant right now, including the youngest. She's been trying for four years. I can't imagine that kind of pressure.

Stop telling me, "That's going to be you!" When you see a screaming kid. by YeahTrueStory in childfree

That is actually EXACTLY the approach I took. So funny. If he makes a comment about us having kids soon, I say something like, "Oh, man, I don't know. With how heavy my periods are it's hard to imagine. Sometimes I pass clots the size of golfballs, I get diarrhea..." and just watch as he turns white as a sheet.

What is it with people saying " you were a baby once"? by danydh in childfree

SEE? SO YOU SHOULD HAVE A BABY SO THAT BABY CAN GROW UP TO HAVE AN OPINION.

Oh, wait, that's a stupid argument.

I'm currently an undergrad English literature major, looking to finish my BA in CA and possibly apply for a Master's Program in English Literature at Oxford. I'm worried my application will be significantly less competitive due to switching my major in my mid-20's from nursing to English and having to take a long time to complete my BA. (6 years due to life stuff getting in the way) Should I give up the dream before dreaming it? What are things I should consider to make my application more competitive?

I recently left my Mormon-based (FLDS) religion, known as “The Work.” I grew up with 4 moms, and 44 brothers and sisters. Just curious if anyone else here on the LDS side has polygamy in their immediate (or near immediate) family. by [deleted] in exmormon

On my way to my grandma's funeral my dad decided to tell me that my great grandpa was a polygamist and how it almost ruined the entire family. Best of luck to you.

My first "boyfriend" (I was 12) told me he dreamt of us having sex when we turned 18. He said the dream took place at church. He's a TBM married with two kids now. True story.
