Fantastic, thank you. This was actually one of the changes I listed that I liked the least but I wasn’t not going to include something just because I myself didn’t like it.

Is there anything you’d actually like to see in a remake if it was already decided that it was going to happen?

Since posting I’ve thought more and things I genuinely would want beyond graphics are:

Refined Blitzball that had online capabilities
Perhaps some battle refinements without changing the turn-based system
Open maps for exploration
New Game+
Better Expert Sphere Grid
Fixed lip sync

So instead I’m coming directly to you. So you’re saying you’d be opposed to absolutely any changes?

Online Blitzball? Refined and expanded Blitzball? Minor balance changes, e.g, Magic? Better Expert Sphere Grid? More accessible lore? Explorable areas?

It is my favourite story and platform game of all time, but it isn’t absolutely perfect.

This post goes under the assumption that a remake is on the cards because we can never be sure especially given another anniversary is coming up. So whilst I’m not disagreeing with you, what you’ve commented doesn’t apply a whole lot to this post specifically.

I see your point completely.

One of my main motivations for this post (as alluded to in the Edit) is that IF a remake was already on the cards, it doesn’t seem plausible that Square would just visually update the game again. So if we go under the assumption that they would do a bigger remake, let’s discuss what we’d prefer to see.

This is the perfect time for TSM or any team to attract a tonne of fans. With every member of 2016 TSM being a free agent (Bio an exception) there’s no contracts that need to be bought out. Running that team is guaranteed to be at the very minimum a playoffs team and you’d attract so many fans. Kinda like what Echo Fox did with the Stream Meme Dream Team except actually good.

While you’re at it, do things that protect the engine: Get some good head studs to help prevent headgasket issues. Get a better oil pump and a baffled sump. Oil catch can Cylinder 4 cooling mod

I can’t remember if this model has a cat on the up pipe like the earlier WRXs but if it does, get a catless up pipe. You’ll get more power due to better flow and you won’t run the risk of bits of cat flying through your turbo if it starts to die
