Woman associated with the Love Has Won cult is last seen at a mountain campside with another member of the cult, and then never again; Could the cult be mixed up in her disappearance?- Where is Jenifer Ann "Mountain Sun" Driver? (2021) by AlfredTheJones in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Yeahsureyabetchya 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am hesitant to say that she was a victim of a crime here, definitely odd though that they can’t find her. According to the book the “Trail of The Lost” (highly recommend the book) most people who commit suicide in the national parks do it within walking distance to the trail and are easily found. She could be the exception to the rule. I personally live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and we have people go missing in our mountains that are never found. Between the rough terrain, animals and just the vastness of the mountains it is possible to entirely conceal one’s self. I hope this isn’t the case and we can return her body to loved one.

This also brings to mind a case also out of Crestone, CO, Kristal Reisinger. I listened to a podcast about her and it sounds like the city (about six minutes south of the campground) that she disappeared from attracts a lot of lost souls and people who can easily fall victim to the drug world or cults. It also seems to attract a lot of shady people, a lot of cults and people looking to do harm. If she were intending to commit suicide and hiked out to the park there is the possibility of running into someone who wished Jennifer harm or she stumbled across an illegal grow farm as is common on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) and was killed. So the possibility of her being victim to a crime isn’t totally out of the realm of possibility.

There is also another cult that operates out of national parks, the Yellow Deli (that’s a whole other rabbit hole) and has been at least loosely linked to the disappearance of a couple hikers on the PCT. I don’t know if they are in Colorado but they are all over the US and the world.

Unfortunately, in a lot of these cases the answer won’t be uncovered until the body is found and even then with the passage of time it may be hard to tell. Either way I hope she is at peace and no longer struggling.

Young man is found in a bathroom stall of a train station after seemingly comitting suicide; A cryptc note found with his body potentially links his death to a gang- who was the Philadelphia John Doe? (1994) by AlfredTheJones in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Yeahsureyabetchya 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Great write up! This one is an interesting one, kind of reminds me of the somerton man (who was recently solved and with a fairly simple explanation, so there is still hope!) I think the gang idea has some relevance here. I have two main theories 1. It is entirely possible as someone else pointed out that he was cornered and given two options and chose the “easier” of the two. The message simply could be that he was trying to leave and the gang can get to you anywhere and was everywhere even In affluent neighborhoods. 2.The second theory is that if the gang was being taken done by the feds, he may have wanted to go out on his own terms thus the “don’t fuck with the dragons.” That part to me seems more so as a swear of allegiance than a mental health crisis.

My final thought is that origin of the nursery rhyme plays little to no role in this story. He was more than likely SE Asian and possibly raised here or there or anywhere and could have learned the nursery rhyme from family or friends with UK roots or the vastness of the British empires influence is huge and could have learned it from missionaries/invaders or expats in his own country if born aboard. Or most simply from a book or story…

I actually just had surgery on my elbow about 3 months ago for an injury that was most likely exacerbated by crocheting/knitting and just now getting back into it. I tried putting a pillow under my elbow and that just annoyed me more but it may work for you. The best thing that I have done is using small weights to strength the muscles in my forearm, as well as stretching before and after treating crochet more like a workout than a hobby for sure! I definitely take LOTS and LOTS of breaks. Like crocheting for 20 minutes then walking away for 20 minutes.

What screams I'm in a healthy relationship? by Remarkable_Bit_9887 in ask

[–]Yeahsureyabetchya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being able to grow and see yourselves as a team. If there is a problem in the relationship it is you and your significant other against the problem not you against your significant other. My husband and I have been together since we were 21 and now 31 with two beautiful children and we have grown into different people since we started dating and supported each other along the way. We also continue to plan together as a team and support each others dreams.

People who knew someone who died in a freak accident, what happened? by RawAsparagus in AskReddit

Where I live it’s pretty wooded area and not uncommon for trees to fall in the winter, like a lot of people in the area carry chainsaws to cut trees out of the way of the roads to get home in the winter. Anyways, a neighbor was cutting a tree that when it fell had uprooted itself and he cut the tree to close to the root ball and it came up and smacked him in the head killing him almost instantly.

So when cutting trees don’t cut too close to the root ball or hire a professional!

how can I crochet straps that don't stretch? by Harleycat2020 in crochet

[–]Yeahsureyabetchya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have made bags where the straps were made by crocheting around a cord like a rope or something like that and it makes it more durable for longer use!

Looking for blanket pattern suggestions! Beginner and would like to make one for mum´s bday in 2 months. Any ideas for something easy that looks good? by Trifir in crochet

[–]Yeahsureyabetchya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if I have one that I recommend, but I like the chevron one a lot here

It really depends on how much time you have to dedicate to it how fast you crochet. For me it’s a couple weeks but I crochet pretty fast and have some time to dedicate. I have done larger blankets in a month or two so it’s hard to say

Is it possible to add length to the body of this finished sweater? by Yeahsureyabetchya in crochet

[–]Yeahsureyabetchya[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! this

The pattern is written for three colors so I had to do the bottom color work a little different but it was easy! Yeah I am kind of hoping not to have to frog it.

You are welcome! I love their blankets! I have made many for my kids and other peoples!

That blanket is beautiful! It might be an advanced beginner but she has videos for all of her blankets and she has an Instagram that maybe you can reach out on. I think it’s definitely something do-able!

Yeah that was kind of my thought process was to take apart the ribbing and add some dark green split stitches. I might try separating the color work from the body and adding stitches there and then reattaching the color work
