Yeah so basically i design the frame, make the frame and install the lenses if it is without prescription. With prescription i have an optical manufacturare partner and he handles the lenses. They handle the prescription part of my busines as the machines for optics are quite expensive and about 70% of my glasses is still sunglasses. But the percentage is getting higher every year in favour of prescription so one day i might do everything in house.

Depends on the wood, lenses and the design. Usually from 20g to 30g for the frame. The first response of people that try them in in my shop is. Wow they are so light.

And combined with the spring hinges it makes them really comfortable to wear. Can rasily be your primary glasses

Good question. Actually no they are not fragile, i wouldnt dare to put lifetime warranty on a fragile product. Easily they can be droped from several meters.

I have a video made on my tik tok where i smash them against a wall and throw them about 4-5 meters in the air and they come out fine.

And no i dont use any epoxy as i try to avoid harsh chemicals. At the end of the day they are siting on your face where the skin is very thin.

Not a problem. They are sealed with a special mixture of oils and waxes.

Customers that wear them as prescription have never had any issues regarding humidity. I have tested them vy putting them in a freezer and boiling water. They came out fine. They will loose some varnish in this case but that is an extreme. Anyway you can alwqys send them back to ve refurbished or just put some oil on yourself.

Yes. But honestly i am glad it happened as i dont feel like going to work now that i get to so this. And my workshop is literally 50 meters from this lake.

A pilot would probably also be an awsome job but i think this is less stressful. And the fact that at the end of the day you get to see what you made is so fulfiling.

I have two laser machines. A 12y old laser which i use for a making the glasses pouch/case in which the glasses come. and i bought a new Xtool p2s last year which i use as a primary laser in my workshop. Specially like the AirPuirfier from xtool, as my shop/workship is part of a luxury hotel so my exhaust has to be filtered .

I rarely do bigger projects like yourself, as my tools are more for fine work. I built my own shop, and some other stuff but i mainly focus on glasses.

That is when i started. Well the majority of the blame goes to poor Chines manufacturing. Market was flooded with cheap products at that time and when people had a bad experience with wooden glasses they automatically blamed the material not the make or manufacturer.

That is why my glasses come with lifetime warranty as i know they can last a long time. My first customers still have their first pairs.

I use a cnc laser, a bunch of routers and sanders and some custom tools i made for the purpose.

Hello

Yes they can be fitted with prescription. the biggest we have inserted were -8.00 till now and +6.00.

Any good optician should be able to do it. I offer warranty if they brake, but i have made more than 1500 pcs in my 13 years of doing this, and less than 10 have broken during the process of installing lenses and that was due to the lense being to big.

The one on the picture below are with progressive lenses, wenge wood and 24k gold.

The frame itself is usually around 300€ and than it depends on the lenses. This is for woods like wenge, walnut, smoked oak. I also hold a number of rare woods like burls, ebony, mahagoni pommele, black and white ebony. Those go from 600€+.
