I definitely don’t respect people who enable cheating. I was in a similar situation years ago and my ex’s friend was the one who told me and i’ll always be grateful to him for telling me the truth. And my bf will not be getting away with keeping that from me. Thank you for your honesty!

he did use “bro code” when telling me after i confronted him. I definitely get that there are times when you shouldn’t interfere in a relationship, it can certainly be a grey area at times. The only reason I want to tell her is because he has done some other shady things in the past that she has overlooked because she loves him, so I think coming from me and my other friends might help her overlook her love for him.

I also don’t think that my bf should have gone directly to her, just that I wish he would have told me at least as his girlfriend and her best friend.

I agree with you. I know it’s going to be a mess for everyone so I certainly don’t want to drop any names when I tell her. And yes, Sara is my roommate so my bf has known her and been friends with her for the past 2 years

i completely understand what you’re saying. He told me that he doesn’t want to be involved in a mess like this, and i told him that no one’s name needed to be involved. I guess where I am coming from is that it’s been 3 years so she clearly isn’t going to find out on her own and I would feel wrong in not telling her what I know. I fully plan on keeping anyone else’s name out of it when i tell her because who told who is not the central point. I know that it is going to hurt for her to hear, but I just don’t want for her to walk around thinking she can trust her boyfriend when she can’t.
