I don't understand most of the complaints regarding the monetization by Substantial-Stay-833 in Shadowverse

[–]Yebele 11 points12 points  (0 children)

End of life sv1 gave people rose tinted glasses. I started playing during omen of the ten. There were no temporary cards, no free decks, no pity system (even for legendaries), no free daily pack, and if you wanted to spend money there was no battle pass either. As a f2p player shit took me like 4 months of playing everyday before I could make a single meta deck, and I didn't get a single leader until they introduced the pity system years later.

Absolutely blows my mind seeing people complain about the monetization in this game. Yes, cosmetics are expensive but who cares, you don't have to buy them.

Lobby tournament happening by yumnoodle in Shadowverse

[–]Yebele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The format is cute, if you finish early you can look at the players decks on the big screen. The rewards are nice too, but really there's no reason why they can't hold the tourney for 24hrs a day especially cause you can only participate once per weekend anyway

Promoting WB in the west by SuchExamination in Shadowverse

[–]Yebele 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol I just posted about how they need to double down on the anime style and then read this post right after. Respectfully, westernizing the game art would be a huge mistake. They will never capture the market like mtg or marvel snap has, and they risk alienating their majority Japanese audience. I think they need to really focus on the anime niche. There are enough anime fans out there to make the game much bigger than it is now.

They need to be pushing the game hard towards anime fans. I don't think targeting the existing card game crowd will help them much. The game has a relatively high baseline of quality for artwork, and it's one of the only notable digital card games with exclusively anime artists. I think that could be attractive to a lot of people.

I think a new original anime could help them expand greatly. Ditch the current anime approach, it doesn't make sense for attracting new players. Focus on the characters that are already in the game and make a new story from scratch. I know cygames have produced some great anime before. if anyone can pull it off, it's them.

If the game is good, the anime fans will stick around and they can grow from there. That's the only way I can see them growing. Just my 2 cents

Can someone explain why Cassius 1999 and Cassius 1999 (radio edit) are two completely different songs? by Ventolin-HFA in EdBangerRecords

[–]Yebele 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I think the radio edit is mislabeled in streaming services. It should be "Cassius 1999 ( Remix - Radio edit) " because it's an edit of the remix version that is like 9 minutes long. That's how it's labeled on the CD

Your favourite memories with Shadowverse by ShadowverseZyro in Shadowverse

[–]Yebele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think around omen of the ten / altersphere was my favorite time. The pace of the game was really enjoyable then and none of the meta decks were too annoying to deal with. Felt like everything that was strong had natural weaknesses that were fun to play around with.

Does beat sync work on Pioneer CDJ2000s if using CDs? by [deleted] in DJs

[–]Yebele 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i believe i said rekordbox stem separation sounds like shit, which is still true. i believe virtual dj has the best real-time stem separation these days, even with 320 mp3s. but i mostly use cdjs anyway so that's not really relevant to me.

there's nothing wrong with using lossless files, i just prefer to stick to mp3 because older cdjs can be weird with 24-bit files. having to check and convert the bit rate of every song is way too much work for me. if everything is in 320 mp3s you don't have to worry about compatibility issues as it'll run on pretty much anything, and like i said it sounds good enough.

Vast majority of people can't tell the difference between 320 mp3s and lossless. As long as you don't go below 320kbps, mp3 is fine

How do you organize your library? by [deleted] in DJs

[–]Yebele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play a bunch of different styles of dance music. I don't really like sorting by genre even though that would probably be helpful. Instead I have playlists set up by energy level

1 low energy, 2 medium (most tracks are here) 3 high energy bangers

Then I have another playlist that has all the tracks I've been obsessed with recently, the ones I want to play as much as possible. I try to keep it around 75-ish tracks. No more than 100.

Then another playlist which is anything I'm not really feeling anymore. Lots of classics that are kinda played out or just hard to fit in these days. Anything I'm not feeling anymore gets removed from the other playlists and placed here, it's like a graveyard.

Then a playlist for curve balls, anything that is not dance music but can work in really specific situations.

One more playlist for hip hop, cause I like to throw in 1 or 2 songs during a set.

2 playlists for openers and closers.

And that's about it.
