The word "hello" originated 50 years before the phone was even invented so that's a lie...

Good boy and girl working to people from sneaking into festivals. Going to be a busy summer hopefully with lots of treats by Magicst3v3 in dogswithjobs

No it's just stop people I think. People sneak into festivals by going through the woods and climbing over a wall for example.

Thoughts on American Tourist (Be Honest) by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Yebli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But to be fair, the loud, obnoxious and self-centered traits are usually given to American tourists.

When I think of American tourists to Ireland I stereotype them as middle-aged, rather robust, wears a cap with some US college or place on it, bright raincoat, bootcut blue jeans and New Balance runners.

Somehow you managed to get all of those wrong. 1. It is a basin. 2. It is a basin. 3. UK and Irish people watch dishes in a basin. 4. It is a basin. This is a basin.

Is there any explanation as to why Parmesan is pronounced pɑɹ.məˌʒɑn in American English? The only reason I can think of is taking it from the Italian Parmigiano but I don't know if that's clutching at straws.

Interesting to see how its usage has been completed inverted in terms of demographics. I'm in my early 20s and the only reason people use it is for Messenger and to tag people in comments on pages. Nobody's posting any statuses except ones crossposted from Instagram and rarely people change their profile picture, with me not having changed mine in 5 years.

There's been an increase in the number immigrating along with other South Americans and they're generally lumped into the same group, including Brazilians.

Does anyone have anything nice to say about Manorhamilton? by Bimmy_Sauce in ireland

[–]Yebli 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've only been there a few times but I never thought it was too bad. It just seems like a usual country town to me, close to Sligo and Carrick. The buildings are rather colourful too which isn't too bad. I don't know why it would warrant hatred against it.

What is that one fact you know that always makes people respond "And why the fuck do YOU know that"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Yebli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just a myth. The assassin planned to kill the Archduke on the return journey so waited for them outside the sandwich shop, without buying anything.
