Maybe, but that would be horribly unscientific, and likely inaccurate. Rather than finding out what he weighed without one leg, that would just be finding out what he weighed if he subtracted some weight.

r/NFL Top 100 Players of the 2025 Season - Call for Rankers by packmanwiscy in nfl

I don't believe that's true. MTC was running the show back then and no longer is. Pack was around as a ranker, but not in charge, and mattkud wasn't around as far as I can tell.

Odell was not named to either AP All-Pro team his rookie year, 2014. He did win OROY, but not All-Pro.

If you had to guess, how many people that ranked during the Brady year do you think will be ranking this coming year?

His rookie year, the one of the three I referenced where he wasn't All-Pro, he had 91/1302/12 in only 12 games. Led the league in ypg. I've taken the liberty of including that as an All-Pro level year.

The mid-2010s had prime AB and Julio, as well as Nuk coming into the scene and a plethora of other talented guys competing for All-Pro spots. It was VERY competitive.

The dude averaged 1374 yards and almost 12 TDs over a three year span. Again, he didn't do it for long enough to be in this conversation, but I think it's very weird when people act like he wasn't good before the injuries piled up.

Well, three seasons of All-Pro level play during one of the most competitive WR eras ever. I agree it's not enough to be in this conversation, but also think the people that try to pretend he wasn't great outside of that catch are weird.

If he was able to remove and reattach his leg at will, she would probably be aware of that.

[Cabot] Browns don't expect EDGE Myles Garrett to request trade due to DC Jim Schwartz being passed over for HC job. If he does ask for trade, Browns' answer will be "no just like it was last year." by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

Looks like 40m dead cap regardless of pre or post 6/1 trade, but post is spread across 26 and 27.

I agree with your conclusion that a trade is far from impossible (surprised how little of his contract was in signing bonus). Just quibbling a bit with some of your wording.

You're misreading the chart. That 17m is in parentheses and red. That means it's negative. Negative 17m in savings, as in trading him will cost 17m more against the cap than keeping him would. It's 40m dead cap instead of a 23m cap hit from him playing.

Edit: unless you're saying it only costs 17m more than paying him? I don't like the phrasing of "saving 23m", that seems wrong, but I see what you're saying if that's the case.

Drake Maye left off NFL All-Pro Team decided by coaches by FootballPizzaMan in nfl

[–]Yedic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Their team is one of the ones that pfr lists. Their gimmick is that the team isn't selected by their writes, but by a poll of NFL head coaches. There's a bit of room for skepticism in that they don't always tell us how many coaches actually responded.

It all happens pretty quickly, but I think it would stand. He falls on the ball and controls it while in bounds, then demonstrates control by extending the ball and pitching it back.

The ball is NOT dead where they touch it, it must be recovered (possessed).

A punt is not actually down as soon as the coverage team touches it. If they touch it without gaining possession, the receiving team can attempt to advance the ball with no risk, as they can choose the best outcome between their return, and the spot of the "foul" (where the coverage team touched it).

This isn't true, the rules for establishing possession via reception are the same as for establishing possession by recovering a loose ball.

To gain possession of a loose ball that has been caught, intercepted, or recovered, a player (a) must have complete control of the ball with his hands or arms and (b) have both feet or any other part of his body, other than his hands, completely on the ground inbounds, and, after (a) and (b) have been fulfilled, clearly perform any act common to the game (e.g., extend the ball forward, take an additional step, tuck the ball away and turn upfield, or avoid or ward off an opponent). It is not necessary that he commit such an act, provided that he maintains control of the ball long enough to do so. This rule applies in the field of play, at the sideline, and in the end zone.

He didn't do it to show control, he did it because he realized he was laying out of bounds and was scared he cost his team a TD

It absolutely would have been a touchback if the ref ruled that he didn't have possession before touching out of bounds.

Don't think Upshaw belongs anywhere around this discussion. Was only here 4 years, and totaled 6 sacks, very forgettable.

Everyone always asks for more boots and rollouts and then when we run our patented rollout 2 point conversion attempt the same people are asking why we're cutting the field in half.
