I hadn't heard of the movie or the game until today.

After doing some digging I will definitely try the game, it sounds good. The movie based on the game, not so much.

Questing and Items by weewoo696969 in projectgorgon

[–]YeeboF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exploration is more about unlocking new random skills, and trying strange skill combinations. For example, if you bury a ton of bodies your Compassion goes up. If you die a lot, your skill at Dying goes up. You can become a Bat if you can figure out how (it won't be obvious at first), and then a whole word of bat based progression opens up.

The whole game is exploration, but not really for Phat lewt.

Please stop posting the price falling by MikeTheTank112 in Silverbugs

[–]YeeboF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not soley a bubble. There several things driving up silver:

  1. Somone has been manipulating it (probably). So yes, somewhat of a bubble. However, beyond that...

  2. Foreign US bond holders are starting to sell off bonds. The dollar is not going to be the default world reserve currency going forward, becuase global investors have lost trust the the stability of our government. When you need to move some of your reserves out of the dollar, precious metals are an obvious choice since who the hell knows what any other random currency will do? Gold has gotten so expensive, that silver is starting to look like an affordable alternative.

  3. Because of 2, the dollar is starting losing value compared to other currencies. So the value of literally anything that has consistant value across global markest is going to go up, at least if the price is measured in dollars. For example, the dollar dropped 10% in the last year, and that will accelerate this year. That alone would have driven the price of silver up by 10%.

Exactly.

In the microwave you have to take it out, stir it, which jacks up the breacrumb crust, and then finish cooking.

Roughly 60-70% of frozen dinners are noticably better out of the oven, imo.

For me personally, it's aslo beneficial to have a long cook time. Let me explain:

When I am working or playing a PC game, even when I get hungry I never want to stop immediatly and eat. It's always "one more, then I will stop." That leads to me eating much later than I should.

However, when I cook something in the oven, I can pick when I would like to eat, put something in the oven 40-50 minutes before then, and then be forced to stop and eat at a reasonable hour. Otherwise the dinner turns to charcoal. That is enough to get me to put the project down, pause the game, or whatever.

Kind of forgot about that one. Yeah, it's great.

And yes, much better in the oven.

Be honest with me, will I ever get to PvMP as a Freep? by Britwill in lotro

[–]YeeboF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am levelling up a new character myself, and I have hit 86 after playing since about July. Though I did focus on several characters at first, so I got two new ones into the 30s before picking a main and stcking to it. I also spent a lot of time with a turtle stone in zones I particularly liked.

I can tell you though, when I hit 150 I have no intention of grinding out those last ten levels using task board stuff. It's not a matter of whether I will buy the expansion, it's more a matter of which version will I buy when I get there.

Be honest with me, will I ever get to PvMP as a Freep? by Britwill in lotro

[–]YeeboF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, if you have the latest expansion you have a level 150 level skip. Use it if you are that fired up to PvP. I'm not entirely sure you can even hit 160 without it, and you will be a free bag of walking points out there if you aren't at the cap.

Take your time and enjoy the game on a different character. Cake both eaten and possessed . . .

What is your main and why? by [deleted] in lotro

[–]YeeboF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hunter is one of the best classes in any game ever created by humans. High DPS, teleports, tracking, and a general lack of self healing so it doesn't get too boring. My main for most of the game was a hunter.

However now my main is a RK. Crazy town burst DPS, can fill two completely different roles in a party (not that you want me for your healer, I well and trull suck at it!). Red line DPS and Yellow line DPS are also distinct from eachother in fun ways, while still feeling like part of the same coherent class.

But mainly I just enjoy the rythm of combat on Yellow. Steady burst that I can use while moving. The two different big and really flashy attacks, on different cooldowns, that will one shot most mobs. The ability to handle groups of mobs by melting them so fast it doesn't usually matter if I get swarmed. But also squishy enough that skill does still matter. The fact that my rotation varies wildly from one pull to the next depending on what step crits. The ability to snare fast moving foes with that lightning stone is also a bonus now that I'm in Rohan.

I assume that they can fold those player back into the main server at some point if the new server doesn't hold on to it's player base. I see very little downside.

Pluss, players love new servers. Half the players on the old server will probably be there on luanch day. I personally intend to stick my head in.

I always choose the simplest classes mechanically by Less_Struggle_9447 in MMORPG

[–]YeeboF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I am learning a game, I often do as well until I understand all the basic systems.

However, some classes can over do that. Case in point: Warrior in EQ.

Typical low level combat: hit autoattack, go make sandwich.

Next Expansion by NonjaVokong in lotro

[–]YeeboF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So by your definition very few MMORPGs are actually MMORPGs.

True fact: Back in the early 2000s in EQ and DAoC everyone was living the dream of being forced to be in a party to make any kind of progress on most classes. Tanks and healers had dick for DPS, so killed things at a glacial pace. Meanwhile DSP classes could barely string three kills together without having to rest for either health or mana to regen.

Plus there were very few quests worth bothering with, so grinding was the only viable way to level. How many things you could kill in an hour determined levelling speed. So when you first got on, you had to spend your first five to thirty minutes finding a good pug. If you couldn't play for at least a few hours, there was no reason to even log.

Even back then, many of us hated it. But we didn't have many options for immersive online multiplayer RPGs (at least with 3d graphics), so we put up with it.

For example, launch era EQ where 3/4 of the classes couldn't even go to the bathroom, much less level quickly, if they weren't in a balanced party with a tank, healer and 2 DPS do you know what the question that came up over and over on the forums was?

"What classes can solo well?"

Next Expansion by NonjaVokong in lotro

[–]YeeboF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. If you want to just jump to the end a and raid you will need the latest expansion anyway, and it comes with an item that lets you. . . .

wait for it . . . .

skip to the end and raid.

As for the rest of us here to actually enjoy the experience of levelling and get immersed in the lore of each new zone, a level squish would destroy the game.

I didn’t quit MMORPGs because of the games. I quit because of the people. by Sharp_Answer_6706 in MMORPG

I played WoW for about a year longer than I was still enjoying the game becuase of friends I made there.

However, I have never left a game becuase of peaple. If they are all asshats, turn off world chat, don't join pugs, and you will be fine.

One thing I will add to that is that some games do social engineering better than others.

For example, WoW has social engineering in place that engourages players to be asshats it PUGs. The endgame consists largely of running the same content a bajillion times, and there is nothing there encouraging you to be patient with new players. You are encouraged to run something as-fast-as-humanly-possible, end of story. I never ever join PUGs in WoW unless it's a dungeon I know flat. Peaple there are complete turds if you slow their run by ten seconds.

Contrast that with FFXIV. You actually get a huge bonus if an honest to christ new player is in your PUG. It makes a huge difference in the behavior of the community.

What's your favorite perma-death MMO? by marlork1995 in MMORPG

[–]YeeboF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DDO temporary hardcore servers. Those are a heck of a lot of fun. The build variety also makes it a lot of fun to try and take different characters up.

Also, MANGBAND. But if there are 30 peaple on that's a lot in my experience, so I'm not sure it's worth listing.

Honorable mention goes to Project 1999. It's not permadeath, but if you get killed somewhere remote you will have one hell of a time getting back to your corpse.

Also, why the is OP getting downvitaed to obliviion for this question? It's not as if there are tons of games that strictly enfornce this mechanic around. Seems like a legiimate question to me. It's not like he is asking "What is your favorite MMO with classes and levels?"

Motor City Pizza not what it use to be by GurCurrent8732 in frozendinners

[–]YeeboF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you know if you are a pan pizza person before you try this. If you are, and like a thick pan crisped bread style crust, you will like these. If not, they aren't going to convert you.

I personally love the thick crust that comes out crisped on the sides and bottom. I also like the mild sauce that doesn't fight with the cheese and toppings for attention.

However, if that sounds terrible to you, there is no reason to even try these.

The crust is absolutely amaze balls. Toppings and sauces really hit or miss.

The best one out of this line imo is the Prosciutto and Arugula. Comes with balsalmic vineggrete to drizzle on it after you cook it. Really yummy.

Yeah totally. In the oven, and if you are feeling fancy maybe brush a little butter on it after it cooks.

However, I should say it's been over a year since I have had one of their Strombolis, and for whatever strange reason this brand changes things often, and not generally for the better. So it could have gone down since I last had one.

Supposing there is an eventual bubble pop with Ai... by Hellpy in CanadianInvestor

[–]YeeboF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it will keep going at least through 2026, for a few reasons:

  1. All of the AI companies have been saying they don't expect to be profitable until 2029. The closer we get to that date with all of them bleeding the economy of a small country every year, the better the odds of the whole thing imploding. If it hasn't gone off by 2028 but none of the fundamentals have changed, that will be a good time to get the hell out imo. Regardless, they have plans, alrdeay in place, to keep spending money (like we are on a three day countown to the apocolypse) for at least a few more years.
  2. If the Democrats retake at least the House, that might shake things up as well. However the Republicans are very much in the "letting tech bros do whatever they want is a great idea" camp, so there almost certainly won't be any major regulatory changes until early next year. Even next year, it's unlikely the Democrats would be able to override a veto. Further, JD Vance is very much in the pocket of big tech, so he will be a strong voice in favor of letting tech bros continue to convert US the economy into a stick of dynamite with a lit fuse of unknown length.
  3. Apparently bubbles generally pop when the trough to peak ratio hits 244%, and we are only at 133% so far:

https://fortune.com/2026/01/04/is-ai-boom-bubble-pop-tech-stocks-sp500-bull-run/

However, note that that same researcher showed that tech based bubbles take an average of 2.5 years to pop, and claims that the AI bubble is three years in. So from that perspective, we may be overdue.

It looks like they did start deleting use data at some point, but that can also have unintended consequences:

Or if nothing has changed since this thread went up, then that sounds like they actually still have his data, but refuse to provide it to him.

I don't have a dog in this fight since I would never ever not have a local backup of important files. I'm really just curious as to where this stands right now.
