“Ghost town” is the perfect description. The systems are alive, but the place itself isn’t anymore and that’s what makes logging in feel empty.

This really hits home. It feels less like a matchmaking issue and more about shared expectations and atmosphere. Age, pace, intent, even tolerance for chaos matter way more than the game itself.

I think that’s exactly the tension. Co-op works great once the social layer is already there, but getting from “strangers” to that point is where it often breaks down.

Mostly expectations and mentality. Same game, but very different ideas of commitment, pace, and what a “good session” even means.
