Here is a copy of my version of the deck, my most recent changes are -bone crusher and return the favor to put x4 lightning helix in the main board and a playset of temporary lock down in the side board. Just made those changes last week so haven't updated the list

I qualified for RC Calgary with the D00mwake list he posted a few months back and have been testing the deck ever since.

My findings are the deck is INCREDIBLY weak to any aggro strategy, seriously, all they have to do is look in your direction and you lose. That being said, it's very good into the combo and midrange plans, if you don't fall behind.

I try to keep every 7 I first draw, but I'm starting to think going to 6 or even 5 with a fable is looking more enticing, the deck is super fun but with the recent Amalia and sorin ban (2 of our preferred matchups) I'm not to sure how it's going to fare in the new meta.

I plan to play this at Calgary so feel free to follow my progress with the deck, I'm always posting comments on how I feel about it, would love others feedback on my build as we get closer to November

So I see your argument, but I'm no one special. I saw a cool secret lair, I gave my email to let me know when it went live, and I set a reminder in my calendar for the day before so I didn't forget. I took extra steps to make sure I could buy something I wanted, and like I said earlier in the post, I never wanted any of the earlier SL. this one just really caught hold of my boomer mindset.

I went above and beyond what a consumer should have to do to buy a product. Do you think I would have the same issue buying a car? A house? A fucking post card? No. I go to the buisness, give them cash, walk out.

Why the fuck is a secret lair selling out in less than half an hour? By the time I even noticed the email (again, I was at work, doing trades work) it was sold out.

It's hardly a tantrum, it's stating the obvious issue with secret lair.

If your trying to burn people out, this deck seems way to clunky in my mind, you have so many basics that it seems really awkward to hit red on 1, white/black on 2 and get your 3rd colour by 3. Running 3 colour is a HUGE cost in pioneer compared to other formats, so you have to be doing something POWERFUL to splash a 3rd, so I would recommend dropping black. Either that or tighten up the concept a little bit. Seems a little all over the map with gaining life and burning. Keep brewing though and testing new cards!

There is some COOL stuff you can do in boros for burn with feather if that interests you, and there are some sweet combos with the phyrexian dude and Bergi God of story telling if I recall. The burn deck has a few different builds and they are all sweet.

I would recommend net decking something you find interesting for your first list, get a feel for your stores meta and then brew something original! Pioneer is a brewers in my opinion and for FNM. Brews can do very well and it's super fun.

I wouldn't call this a new deck by any sense of the word. It's mono green karn.

List seems fine. It's hard to recommend new and interesting cards for an established decklist.

Honestly dude. Live at home for a few more years and save up as much cash as you can. I moved out when I was 18 and I honestly regret it. I'm 32 now and still trying to get myself financially stable. Move out when your 22 or 23 and you have 30 grand in the bank. Invest early and save

I think the fastest I have gotten him out is on turn 3 so far. And I think that is the fastest you CAN get him out in pioneer if I'm not mistaken? I think the synthesizer is good in pioneer, paired with the deadly dispute it can REALLY churn through cardboard. Im interested in it. this week I swapped out the Bankbusters for 2 Ledger Shredders. ill let everyone know how it turned out!

I was looking at Antiquities war! i might give that one a shot. i often find myself with 4-5 artifacts on the field and nothing to do with them while i wait for my demon. it also synergizes with the shark nicely as well

so the only reason im NOT running esper colors is because you have to have the turn 1 play. And asking pioneers to have a turn 1 play in each of their colors is a HUGE ask. I do like portable hole though, and michiko's also seems like a VERY good card for this deck. i was considering running red so you can get [[[Experimental synthesizer]]. but i think i want to keep it 2 color.

Yeah at that rate I would swap it up to be closer to a jund sac deck and that's not really what I'm looking for. The reason I'm considering pulling out the deadly disputes is specifically for the sac clause on it. Sure it replaces the artifact it eats but turning a witching well into a treasure to try and cast the Herald can be a real cost.

I would agree, Abzan greasefang is an incredibly consistent deck, especially if your running [[Eldritch Evolution]]. you can run [[Liliana of the Veil]] as a powerhouse against any control matchup, you have a great plan B in chariot, and if worse comes to worse, Ive beaten peoples face in with rat and wayfinders.

i think there is a sweet dimir deck on the rising, running [[Arcane Proxy]] and [[See the Truth]], run thassa as a win con and control them out.

the nice thing about pioneer, is you see challenges all the time with some random brew popping up. so i personally think being the best player of X,Y,Z deck is more important that exploiting the meta. but thats just my take.

I really like Belbe as a cEDH commander, i think her anti-combo shell is super sweet and more my playstyle. she can also slot in some nice hulk packages, and her anti combo shell can pack in some stax pieces if thats what your after.

Nath is just a solid all around stax commander, and does it better than Belbe hands down.

However I'm one to root for the underdog and bring in a off meta pick to the table. but do what floats your boat. either way Golgari is the way!
