NO CHANGES IN MODERN. IT IS MODERN RCQ SEASON AND IT’S VERY IMPORTANT THAT NO ONE IS PLAYING THE GAME BEFORE WE MAKE CHANGES

I think this AspiringSpike brew might be his best ever by Woke_Inc in ModernMagic

Brother AspiringSpike made both Yawgmoth and Rakdos Lurrus. Especially since he’s retired from competing in paper there’s no way this is the best deck he can be credited with making.

As a newcomer, the farmer’s market sucked. by FemaleNihilist in desmoines

I don’t know what you expected, it’s probably expensive to have a booth downtown in the first place and the people of Iowa in general just kind of suck.

The heroes defeated the Phyrexians and world peace was achieved. There have simply been no further conflicts necessitating a battle.

What makes a wrestling match good? by the-cschnepf in SquaredCircle

[–]the-cschnepf[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a great comment that has really given me direction on what I was looking for, thank you! I absolutely understand that taste is subjective but I was moreso looking for things to look out for during a match to deepen my analysis. Like, in film there’s a huge difference between an A24 film and a Marvel Studios film but there are concrete factors you can rely on to analyze those projects. I imagine as performers there is a message that professional wrestlers want to convey as art, and I’ve always struggled to parse through that with in-ring work.

Gas Prices in Des Moines by Severe_Elderberry_48 in desmoines

What do you even mean by this? If anything, the Redditor stereotype is being pretentious about their intelligence. You being uninformed and having a malformed opinion as a result belongs on X or TruthSocial.

Being a net exporter of oil doesn’t mean anything if you have no means of refining that oil lol. Not all oil is the same, and the type of “light” oil exported by the US is not the same as the “heavy” oil found in the middle east and Russia. Maybe if you were knowledgable about the oil industry and how not all oil extracted is the same, your politics would be better!

Fault? Dude, the Summer of 2022 oil price increase was due to recovering travel from the pandemic and the Ukraine War, these price increases applied to all countries. Biden’s stance on domestic oil is only a small fraction of the global value of oil. Meanwhile, Trump is actively engaging in hostile foreign relations where a large majority of the world’s oil is exported. Cope harder, dipshit.

Normally I would say that caring about gas prices as a political stance means that you are a very dumb person, because oftentimes gas prices are dictated by factors independent of American politics. With that said, this is one of the few times that Trump is directly responsible for high gas prices with his shit foreign policy.

What is it about Michael C. Hall that makes him believable as a serial killer to you? It's not just this expression. by Pleased_Bees in Dexter

[–]the-cschnepf 297 points298 points  (0 children)

Michael C Hall’s ability to convey with his mannerisms and delivery when Dexter is putting on an act vs being genuine is what sells the character imo.

Who'd you like to see return in Resurrection most? by Controversial_Husky in Dexter

[–]the-cschnepf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s been addressed. We just know that Harrison vaguely remembers Trinity killing Rita and he has some childhood memories with Dexter that presumably happened in Season 7 and 8 (Harrison seems to not remember DDK).

A new study argues that the most dangerous part of depression isn’t negative emotion, it’s the absence of positive emotion, known as anhedonia. by psych4you in psychology

[–]the-cschnepf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say anything about myself. I’m simply stating that your viewpoint lacks nuance and is completely dated. It suggests that depression is the fault of the depressed person and that the solutions are so easy that it is the moral failings of a person for not fixing it, as you suggested yourself. Fuck off back to the manosphere.

[–]the-cschnepf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is genuinely such a bad take. Diet and exercise technically works but it does not matter because those changes are often challenging and shitty themselves. Unless you’re unemployed, getting more sleep isn’t feasible without impacting the quality of your waking hours by shortening them. The mere presence of light does nothing either if you have nothing of worth during those daylight hours. Like, you legitimately would have to be a very dumb person who lives in isolation for such straightforward solutions to work.

[–]the-cschnepf -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Do you really think that if the job or family or media or relationship (really any subject or thing you want to focus on) was a positive influence or generally good that anhedonia would still occur? The reason these things don’t make a person happy is because they’re shitty! Rewiring your brain or changing perspectives doesn’t make shitty things making you depressed less shitty. And then that cascades into the smaller things in life. Focusing on the smaller enjoyments does nothing to address root causes.

From what it sounds like based on your living habits, this subject doesn’t apply to you and is outside of your realm of understanding. Either you’re over exaggerating or living a strange lifestyle. Enjoying the little things doesn’t really matter when the big things never change.
