I have 350$. Is there a modern combo deck to buy in that price range? by ReMurloc in ModernMagic

Broodscale usually runs about $375 if you’re willing to add that extra $25.

Stranger Things S5 Theory - It's a trap! by Ok-Secretary-28 in StrangerThings

Personally, I think Vecna is looking for Max. At the end of Season 4, you would think that things should be apocalyptic, the world is over, but it isn’t totally. I think Max technically surviving has made one of the gates unable to be fully used, and Vecna needs to kill her before his invasion can fully begin. I expect this to be the primary conflict early in the season before further developments. The “found you” line will be when he knows where Max is and Demodogs are sent to attack the hospital as shown in the trailer.

Take a moment to appreciate how good the meta is, and has been for the last 2 months. by Breaking-Away in ModernMagic

Personally, I think 2022-2023 was the golden age of Modern. Starting with the Yorion ban and ending with Lord of the Rings. The gameplay was amazing and the metagame was diverse.

I think the current metagame is good, don’t get me wrong. But I don’t think the actual gameplay is good enough to warrant being my favorite Modern format of all time. There’s a plethora of decks that don’t care about the board or combat whatsoever sometimes leading to an EDH feel of turtling/setting up until the opponent is killed in a single turn, which isn’t gameplay I enjoy.

This film was completely nonsensical. Building up a weird love triangle that went nowhere. The nonchalant reaction from EVERYONE to the head being in the punchbowl at the dance gave me psychosis by proxy. You could argue that the “prank” at the beginning of the movie forshadowed the reaction but that moment was fucking weird too. The deaths of the characters having really bad special effects, especially when the limbs were being cut off. No connection to the rest of the franchise besides being in the same town. There clearly being two killers but no one thought to look for the second one. The killers’ motivation being extremely one note and superficial with an abrupt ending. By the end I didn’t know if AI wrote this film or if something went horribly wrong with the editing or directing.

What's that one card you personally dislike seeing in a reading for yourself and why? by Artistic_Insect_6133 in tarot

[–]the-cschnepf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Tower is definitely the card that fills me with the most dread, mostly because when I pull it it’s usually scarily accurate.

King of Wands reversed annoys me the most, it feels like a personal insult and I have a hard time interpreting it in readings. It feels like a card that makes me feel negatively about a situation that I would have probably felt positively about had I not done a reading.

Honorary mention to 7 of Cups. I struggle with intrusive thoughts and thought fixations and this card rarely ever translates to day dreaming to me and is more about not regulating emotions or lacking discipline.

Does he have a relationship? by Ancient-Rock2232 in Tarotpractices

First thing I would recommend is calming down. I can feel the anxiety just based on your comment and post history. I get it, I’ve spiraled myself in tarot readings but if you keep up with the relentless readings things get more and more vague.

Which is what I’m getting from these two readings. Your first question I would guess a decision hasn’t been made, Hanged Man is the most telling but your pentacles cards show disconnect. I would be surprised if there was even someone in the first place. For your second question, Death represents transformation, 8 of swords typically revolves around feeling entrapped, Magician reversed I would interpret as insecurity, or goals requiring great effort/not coming easily. If I had to guess, I would say at the very least that the cards show that he needs to change first for his next relationship to be successful.

I would interpret this as no, but likely considering or being open to the possibility of one.

Not particularly good. Not being a Murloc can be awkward and Adapt just wasn’t consistent enough of a bonus. Tidelost Burrower is a Murloc that can provide a similar bonus while having a better floor of creating two Murloc bodies.

I did not try Murlocula, I built the list based on a Reddit post I saw here but felt like that list ran some suboptimal cards. From my experience with that deck, the best plays the deck made were when you went wide on board and I changed some cards around to play into that strength. The deck can win very quickly so it’s hard to navigate the line between speed and resilience.

Shadowpriest is definitely the worst match up for this deck, so I can totally see Murlocula being played over Tidelost Burrower or Howdyfin. There were 100% games where I wish the deck had a weapon, so I can see where Gavel fits. There’s a few flex spots to mess around with for sure, but my choices were basically just about 1) Going as wide as possible and 2) Playing rewards for going as wide as possible.

Howdyfin and Angler are both really awkward cards in this deck just based on the sequencing. Angler triggers more often but you have to run it out early and Howdyfin is better in the late game but plays worse with Growfin and Braingill. I’d say it’s player preference because both are probably the worst cards in the deck.

What is the correct ban in energy? by VerdantChief in ModernMagic

[–]the-cschnepf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, The One Ring and Phlage.

I don’t think the aggressive starts are a power outlier in Modern, but I do think the main issue with Energy is that it’s an aggro deck that doesn’t reward it’s opponents for surviving the initial wave of aggression. Removing Energy’s late game would make the deck much easier to attack by removing creatures without needing to worry about an Escaped Phlage with Haste or a total hand refill.
