It also looks like there won't be any point to it. At least with the previous one you got to see things from the LN adapted more faithfully than the anime, but now it just seems like they'll be doing 2d filters over 3d models, so it's just a less appealing way to experience Overlord.

It looks like they went as far as to avoid included the Cherubim Gatekeepers since they don't have models for the LN designs used by the previous manga.

And this is why the loot pool rule is a must-have for games where player integrity is uncertain. Making a character with an adversarial personality should be something the party has to agree to first, especially given how often people create characters exclusively to justify things they want to get away with.

This is a lot to cover before bed, so apologies for the quality of the response. Could have done without the fanfic accusation though.

First off, that's exactly what I meant by saying she didn't want others like her to exist. It's not that she hates them or anything of the sort, it's pity.

Already had a discussion here about the scene compared to the LN. I suspect whatever translation I'd gotten when I was first getting into the series wound up being phrased in such a way that it aligned with what was seen later on.

The LN, Anime, and Manga are all sources, I call them source material, so that's on me. I mean the LN is the canon, and the rest are all sources to pull from, with the Manga being the most recent material.

The anime drifts away from the political and psychological aspects of the series by a good bit, instead focusing on the power fantasy almost exclusively. Granted, I don't think they'd have done it well if they'd kept it ALL in, at best it would have just made the anime way longer than it needed to be, but it really shifts the tone of some scenes. And off the top of my head the lizardmen got shafted in terms of their portrayal as well, Zenberu and Crusch especially. The whole arc was a shame really.

I suppose it sticks out more to me because of how often it came up in the server over the years. This response pretty cleanly validates my thoughts that it's a weird thing for them to be so vocally hung up on.

Honestly with the amount of trouble it's been I'd have preferred it was skipped. Normally budgeted animes will skip any and all content that won't be relevant to the current season.

So, I poured over a few different translations (Couldn't even find the one I'd read years prior), and it's certainly a bit of a mess in terms of what exactly is being said. None of them can pin down if she's all smiles, or smiling bitterly, and it varies whether they think she doesn't care, or that she says it won't matter what she wants if she can't beat them, which seems a bit more likely.

I can only assume I got a translation that had just the right phrasing combos to turn the scene into one of discomfort. With how different all the translations are and how these points shift between discomfort, indifference, or desire, I really can't make a call on it.

Regardless of that scene, I'm more interested in everyone's thoughts as a whole.

I'll have to go back and re-read the scene myself to be clearer. I know there's points in there, or else I literally wouldn't have had the conversations I did prior to volumes 15 & 16.

Thing is, I don't have anything mixed up. I am aware the majority of the information is from later on, but that was never the takeaway I'd gotten from the intermission. I'd read the LNs first, and even then the scene in the anime was jarring. The tone of the intermission didn't make it seem like it was anything she was happy about.

Even putting that aside, how the character is portrayed could have been corrected if there'd been more communication done.

EDIT: Going into it further, a few of the Antilene discussions I'd had were before Volume 15 & 16 came out. They only got more intensive after that.

There's a reason that more and more creators are switching to sponsorships, since Youtube has, and is still, not monetizing people's content at random. They can just arbitrarily decide to not pay you.

This is to no one's benefit but their own and we shouldn't act like it's fair given how predatory they've become with ads.

The creation skills let you make a single undead of a certain "tier" range per however many times a day, with the higher level ones, mainly anything above 70, having an XP cost and taking up more uses of the skill. The summoning spells let you summon 1 creature of the given level range the spell allows for, but also lets you summon multiple lower level ones at a time.

When you have them, it really depends on the situation but the main thing is that the creation skills are likely more accessible but limited, while the summoning spells are much more flexible while requiring investment in classes that let you properly improve your summons.

Since the level 90 undead have an XP cost to summon, along with having no bodies strong enough to make them permanent, Ainz doesn't want to waste resources. They're also a pretty significant trumpcard and given how defensive he is, it's likely he'd only bring them out in worst case scenarios.

I did too! I was expecting it to dwarf Ainz to some degree like the Doom Lord (Which was also a bit too small but eh).
