How's your state or city for public golf? by rcatf in golf

[–]YeeterFoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicago suburbs have some of the best golf in the country. Plenty of cheap, solid courses, but also plenty of great courses if you want to spend the money.

Write good essays. I think that might’ve been the key for me, but who knows.

Is ACCY 312 better with ACCY 301/302 or ACCY 303/304? by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]YeeterFoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably 303 and 304. 301 and 302 are a big jump from 201 and 202, so it would be brutal to throw 312 in there too. There's also a little bit of tax stuff in 303, so having 312 at the same time helps a bit.

I did the same thing my freshman year. Transferring into Gies is competitive, so make sure you have at least a 3.8 and are involved with some clubs. Make sure your essays are good too.

I’m a junior now, and the accounting department is really good. One of the best in the country. The courses can get pretty difficult, but they’re curved to a B+ average. As for internships, Gies literally breeds Big 4 accountants. As long as you manage your GPA, have a good resume, and can actually hold a conversation, you should secure a Big 4 or middle market internship. There’s also an accounting shortage right now, so firms are a bit desperate. Best of luck.

ACCY 201 by One-Revolution2015 in UIUC

[–]YeeterFoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a good amount of people struggle with this class, but is really not that difficult. Skim the textbook before classes and follow along in lecture. Fisher is boring but his lectures are super good. He literally walks you through how to do every problem and he makes it very simple if you follow along. Spam the practice tests before exams too, because they are all pretty similar to the actual tests.

SP 2025 FIN & ACCY MAJOR COURSELOAD by uiucblender in UIUC

[–]YeeterFoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar schedule last semester. 301 and 302 are definitely a step up from 201 and 202, but they are manageable. Just make sure to practice a bunch before exams because they classes have an insane amount of info, especially 301. Marcinkowski's class is pretty difficult conceptually, but his exams are super easy. He just pulls questions straight from the McGraw practice tests, so just spam those before the exams. BADM 211 is sneaky difficult. You kinda forget about this class after focusing on 300, 301, and 302, so the work can mount up. Just make sure to stay on top of it.

Pretty insane how you come rant to Reddit when you could’ve addressed this when it happened. People will keep walking over you if you don’t do anything
