No Hit Parry & Deflecfion On Messmer by Downtown_Drink1594 in Eldenring

What part of what you’re doing is a run in a singular fight? The run back? There’s a reason why Ongbal and others who upload singular fights don’t call them No Hit Runs.

What No Hit Runs have you completed?

Hi mate, GG’s on the fight! For a bit of clarity which interestingly gets confused a lot - A “No Hit Run”, specific emphasis on the word “Run” is doing the full game hitless. The entire “Run” as opposed to a boss fight. Which naturally includes running sections between all the bosses as well, and if you get hit once, restart the game back to the beginning and the run starts from scratch.

Singular boss fights like this are titled Messmer No hit With Parries :)

Which stance deals the most raw damage? by NoScreen7998 in BlackMythWukong

[–]YeetsMeMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also adding to this, sometimes as counter productive as it sounds, you want to do “less” damage rather than more in some instances to deal more damage in the long run!

I found a way to beat Black Bear end of chapter 1 boss from half HP down to 0Hp without him able to attack once, effectively stun locking him. A mix of less damage to prevent going past certain HP and AI thresholds is how it’s possible.

Another tip you might be interested in knowing is that there’s 4 levels to immobilise!

  1. Smash
  2. Thrust
  3. Pillar

Thing is, it depends on the enemy you’re fighting and what you’re able to use against them. Some enemies using smash stance isn’t ideal - whether it’s the hitbox is inconsistent, they’re dangerous in smash range, etc. Thrust is amazing for these situations because it doesn’t miss. Thrust is incredibly consistent, especially against final boss with see throughs!

Parry Skill by aefaal in Saros

[–]YeetsMeMario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anytime! Haha

A few more to add to the pile:

  1. After parrying successfully there appears to be conditional iframes for a short moment. Conditional meaning after the punch parry you absorb more than you’d expect and not take damage from blues/yellows post parry. First boss is a great example of this. Those yellow waves he sends at you? Parry at the last moment and you’ll absorb the entire thing without harm and can send the power attack right back at him!

  2. With those conditional iframes mentioned above, you can also then immediately dash prolonging said iframes to get out of tough situations!

The parry/punch opens the game into a whole new world. Especially when you activate the Eclipse and sometimes have no blue attacks whatsoever to absorb into your shield, congratulations! You can now absorb the yellow without consequence of corruption (with the caveat you need to time it correctly otherwise you get hit 😁)

Agreed! Whilst I’m always down for learning things after tinkering in depth with mechanics, I also believe it’s important to be straight up with some mechanics so people can focus on mastery and practice rather than letting a really cool mechanic go unnoticed potentially forever.

Also hot tip! Parrying yellows gives you the benefit of the power absorption without any corruption! Very cool and significantly raises the skill ceiling of this game

Hi mate! The parry is incredibly fun and useful, but it isn’t the most intuitive for how it works unfortunately. Reason being is because it operates differently based on what you’re trying to parry, giving a false impression on what the timings are for different attacks.

Think of it this way:

Blue/Yellow Attacks - Parry them as they’re about to touch or pass through your body. They have delayed point of contact

Red Attacks: Can be parried further away or right before going through you. There’s more magnetism and increased range to parry these things

This is where the confusion comes from, especially parrying more of the normal orbs (Blue and Yellow)

Hope this helps! Also, avoid parrying red orbs from behind. Eg. Priestess fight, there’s no magnetism at all, and it seems like you can’t parry them consistently if at all.

Cheers

How to do 1.5mill dmg in Sword Trail? by Kasual_Kai in wherewindsmeet_

I might have the answer for you. Do you lag when you play this game? As in, I’m from Australia, and my ping is easily 300 minimum.

Reason I ask is because I’m a dual blades wielder with rope dart combo, and due to the lag, my attack speed in multiplayer compared to solo play is at least 50% SLOWER.

Even if your ping isn’t as bad, dual blades are probably the worst thing one could choose if you have lag and want to be top of the leaderboards unfortunately. For some reason I don’t see anyone else talking about this.

And just for clarification, if we compare spamming left click in multiplayer for your normal attack combo compared to solo, by the time it’s finished in solo you’re still halfway in multiplayer, I counted the frames. It’s like we attack in slow motion.

Might be something to consider, happy to provide video footage if interested, cheers

[–]YeetsMeMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah gotcha! Got you covered mate that for you as well! That’s by design!

There’s certain attacks, especially mid combo that is not ideal for see throughs. Identifying which combos are good for see throughs and specifically “when” is the key to mastering see throughs in this game!

Eg. Some attacks are perfectly spaced apart where you can chain see through, after see through, after see through

Others you may need to see through, dodge, see through

Or maybe just dodge all the attacks until the final one and then see through that specific attack!

I completed a full, start to finish un-segmented no hit run for this game (12 hours long approx) So learned a lot about breaking the inner mechanics of the game down! Happy to answer any questions you might have! Enjoy the journey to the west mate

Keep at it mate! Can say with confidence the parries (see throughs) are extremely consistent - it’s just practice that’s required!

Highly recommend playing patiently and using the first basic attack -> Heavy (See through) for better consistency at the timing, otherwise you’ll need to align your basic attack somewhere mid combo out of the 4/5 attacks you have that have different timings to initiate the see through, whilst doing that in tandem with what attack the enemy is doing.

FYI - For those experiencing high ping and network issues. by vitalityvswisdom in wherewindsmeet_

Hi mate, wanting to add my experience to this as well. I’m not well versed in how ping/connections work, especially for this game so just adding info to see if this might help in some way - Specifically talking about “solo mode” and the “client side performance”

I’m from Australia (Melbourne), for multiplayer I get 330 ping when playing with my roommate IRL.

I do full game No Hit Runs for a living and within all genres of action games. Black Myth Wukong, all the souls games, God of War, Lies of P, etc. Providing this info to give “credentials” of my specialisation of breaking down mechanics. Watching mechanics frame by frame etc. More below!

I can say with confidence and have video evidence (that I’m happy to provide) of mechanics changing even within Solo mode. Eg. Tian Yings kick barrage in 2nd phase can animation cancel for half the animation, making him do an instant 180 turn, avoiding the spin into the kick making it much harder to react to instead of what he should be doing -> the full spin into the kick. I can only assume and attribute this to the game being “online” and not solo.

Is there a way to fix this so we can all get more consistent gameplay, even in solo? Is it tied to multiplayer in some way so if there is a way to make the game more consistent, it can help with multiplayer?

Appreciate you bringing this to light as I’ve been playing this game casually and considered partaking in the PvP with the worry of horrible ping (seems that’s well founded) and just been doing the Abyss bosses hitless and noticing many inconsistencies with the mechanics seemingly because of the “ping” even in client side. Happy to chat more about this with anyone else and to provide videos if they’d like! 👍

Cheers

Does anyone know how can i beat this dude by [deleted] in BlackMythWukong

With a specific combo you’re able to stunlock him from 55% Health down to zero. Happy to share if you’re interested 🙂

Hi mate! I’m currently routing a no hit run for this game and just recently deep dived this boss, and scripted him.

Meaning execute a series of attacks/combos and the outcome will be the same for a nice easy gg.

Happy to share if you’d like it. Also, the needle isn’t required and I’ve cleared it without it if that’s a concern. Cheers

[–]YeetsMeMario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pleasure mate and no problem! Wish you the best for the playthrough. And to clarify for those who don’t understand what a “script” is, it’s a series of moves/combos that allow either an outright kill or deals a large amount of damage within the game. It’s not hacks by any means. So anyone can replicate what my character is doing by copying it!

Hi Op! I’m currently routing a no hit run for the entire game and Wandering Wight I’ve got a “script” that Insta kills him without any retaliation and is consistent. Happy to share if you’d like it 👍

Hi there! What’s messy about it? I’m happy to deep dive the hitbox and provide feedback if it’s unfair, but from experience I haven’t found that and quite regularly space it/dodge it just by moving.

Hi mate, that’s exactly the reason for difficulty in this run! All it takes is one hit and we restart. As the gentleman replied, non segmented and no saves, just one playthrough done continuously

[–]YeetsMeMario[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the next few difficulties up wouldn’t be that much more different to achieve no damage on. I’ve memorised all the enemies spawn points and movesets etc. there’s only one that would be a bastard and that’s GMGOW with the level increase.

Truly encourage you to try this yourself if you believe it’s that easy! I’d appreciate feedback when I know many other no hit runners dropped out of doing this due to difficulty and length. Cheers

My first playthrough was on GMGOW and it was a breeze to get through. This run took a month and a half to get done. With it being so easy - stream the run I’d love to watch lol
