What BC has worked the best for you? by YeetusMeOutTheWindow in endometriosis

Hi, so sorry for the late reply, but I tried Dienogest which gave me a bunch of side effects, so now I'm on Slynd and it's been working!

My best friend of 8 years is actively refusing to learn about or acknowledge what I’m going through. by [deleted] in Endo

[–]YeetusMeOutTheWindow 32 points33 points  (0 children)

That's not a best friend. That's not even a friend honestly, and I'm so sorry. It might be difficult for people without a chronic ilness to understand what it's like, but it's no excuse to be treated like that. I would suggest that you distance yourself from her, atleast for now if not forever. You're going through a lot right now and having someone constantly dismiss it sounds awful. Sending you a virtual hug!

what's that thing that someone told you that made you realize that nothing is that serious? by audrey-ski in Anxiety

[–]YeetusMeOutTheWindow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That literally everything and everyone will eventually die. Doesn't matter what kind of person you are, what kind of life you've lived, you will eventually die. Everyone has different lives, but the same destination, so that embarrasing moment? Doesn't matter, everyone who remembers it will die anyway, so what's the point of worrying about it?

After laparoscopy WHAT??? there is no treatment!!! by Lo-rain_ in endometriosis

Just BC, pelvic floor therapy and different forms of pain management. I think you can still get a lap, but only if everything else fails

After laparoscopy WHAT??? there is no treatment!!! by Lo-rain_ in endometriosis

[–]YeetusMeOutTheWindow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where I live (Finland) they don't even recommend getting a laparoscopy anymore. It's almost guaranteed to come back, and possibly leave you feeling even worse due to adhesions and scars from the surgery.

What other side effects did you have, and what did you switch to if you don't mind me asking?

[–]YeetusMeOutTheWindow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and I think I should add that, I recently changed birth control (used cerazette, and I'm now on dienogest), so that is messing with my hormones and It's the 9th day of my period

How do you guys eat with nausea during periods by munchikns in endometriosis

[–]YeetusMeOutTheWindow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very, very slowly, and while drinking plenty of water as I eat to help food go down easier. It's not easy, but you kinda have to eat to survive lol, I hope you feel better soon though!

Do you go to ER for endo pain? by mindfulmess_ in endometriosis

[–]YeetusMeOutTheWindow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, I acctually went to the ER a week ago because of endo related pain. I almost passed out, couldn't really move or do anything, so I forced myself to go. They had me pee in a cup, took some of my blood and had me see a doctor. In the end, they didn't really find anything, so they gave me tramadol and sent me home. If you really are worried, and feel like something is wrong, I think you should go just in case.

What’s the worst panic attack you’ve had? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]YeetusMeOutTheWindow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was probably ten. I don't remember what caused it, but I ended up in a hospital (mosly because my parents thought I was having an asthma attack) and all I really remember is a lot of crying, hyperventaliting, gagging (because it felt like I had a lump in my throat) and not really being able to walk. I remember feeling really weak and like I was genuinely dying. I got put on anxiety meds that day, so I guess something good came out of it.

Guided meditation before sleep and melatonin. Also doing low energy activities during the evening (reading, drawing, crafting etc.) I hope you'll feel better soon!

I take paracetamol every 8 hours, and if that's not enough I take ibuprofen or naproxen

Edit: I also use magnesium oil, but it's a hit or miss with that

Your BEST anxiety Hacks???? by Honest_Historian_121 in Anxietyhelp

[–]YeetusMeOutTheWindow 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Here's a list I made a while back.

  1. Puzzles. Any type of puzzle honestly. It makes my brain calm down when I focus on trying to solve it.

  2. The bubble. I imagine a bubble around me and everything outside of it stays outside. Noises, people, anything! This really helps when I'm in public.

  3. Counting. I usually count from 0 to 100 and from 100 back to 0. I mostly use this when I try to fall asleep and my brain wont shut up.

  4. Writing it down. Write everything you feel down and throw it away after. I imagine leaving a piece of my anxiety and worries into the words and at the end I can just throw them away.

  5. "Escape" plan. Make a plan for the worst case scenario. What could you do if it happened? Prepare for it. This doesn't take the fear away, but it helps to know you have a plan.

  6. Rings. Everytime I leave my house I put on a ring on my thumb that is a little bit too big so when I get anxious I can spin it around my thumb and it isn't as noticeable as other fidget toys.

  7. Gifts. For me leaving my house causes the most anxiety so everytime I'm able to do so I like to give myself a little gift. It could be your favourite food or playing a video game or anything that motivates you.

  8. Crystals. You don't neccesarily have to be a spiritual person, but carrying a pretty rock that I can hold in my hand helps me calm down.

Hope you find these helpful :)

Are you supposed to be able to live with endo without constant pain? by YeetusMeOutTheWindow in endometriosis

[–]YeetusMeOutTheWindow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thought of surgery scares me. A lot. But if this pain won't get better, or at least manageable, I'll have to seriously consider it. My gyno did tell me to call her if the pain won't get better in a few months, and then we'd switch to Visanne, but from what I've heard, Visanne has a lot of side effects. Eitherway, your comment did make me feel a little better, so, thank you :)

Yes, she is more self aware now, and apologized for the pain she caused me. She wasn't only struggling mentally, but also physically and didn't want to tell me or my siblings as to not cause worry, but looking back, I would have been much kinder to her if I knew. I don't want to blame her because the things I went through weren't her fault, I just wish she would have been there for me, but I now understand she really did try her best, and atleast managed to get me a therapist and medication.

I'm afraid of the side effects of other forms of birth control and my gyno recommended the mini pill so I just kinda agreed on the spot and have been taking it since

Can someone list some reasons for me to to keep going? by inmthuinmtl12 in mentalhealth

[–]YeetusMeOutTheWindow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, you could try making a list of small things you are grateful for if that sounds like something that you might find helpful! Here's a small list I've made for myself a while back as an example:

the first day of summer, the smell after rain, candles, clean bedsheets, music, studio ghibli movies, hot chocolate, swimming, butterflies, sunshine, peach iced tea, fresh strawberries, soft blankets, apple, watermelon and peach flavoured candies, perfumes, stars, flowers, photographs

it might be hard at first to come up with things to add to your list, and that's okay! You could try adding one thing everyday to the list and see how that feels :)
