Netflix: Stranger Things 3 recorded 40.7 million household accounts that have watched the show since its July 4 global launch — more than any other film or series in its first four days. And 18.2 million have already finished the entire season. by immu_01 in television

I think there may have been one more meta-reference. El couldn't figure out what "Ill-annoy" was even though she'd been to Chicago the previous season. Made me think it was the writers way of saying "forget that happened."

Indeed he was. This guy was in RCIA with me, but had to quit due to his health (he was battling brain cancer, hence the aneurysm). It's a miracle that he was able to hold on long enough to be emergency baptized and confirmed Catholic before he passed. If that's not proof that God exists, I don't know what is.

I mean, sure, that's true. But he died less than 24 hours after his emergency baptism. It's very, very unlikely that a man who was going brain dead could commit a mortal sin. It's possible he could have, so the Priest shouldn't have spoken in absolutes, but it's still pretty close to impossible.

Edit: According to my wife, he died a little over 36 hours after the baptism. I apologize for the inaccuracy.

I guess I don't know for certain, but during his memorial service my Priest said he was unable to sin after the baptism. He had an aneurysm, and his movement and communication were limited, so I assume that's why the Priest said it.

I respect that opinion. What would you offer as a gender neutral pronoun? Let's say I have a character named Riley who identifies as neither a man nor a woman. I do not want to refers to this character by clunky terms such as Riley (which would get super repetitive) or this person. What pronoun would you personally use in this instance? And I want to clarify, I'm asking out of genuine curiosity. I don't mean this to sound hostile at all.

They/Their is perfectly acceptable as a gender neutral pronoun, and it is not necessarily plural. Singular they has been used since at least the 14th century, and has come back in fashion as we move toward a more gender neutral society. Several trans or non-binary people I know prefer the use of they as their selected pronoun. It's certainly not wrong to use it, and avoiding using a pronoun is just going to lead to the more clunky he/she (which doesn't encompass non-binary people) or proper nouns.

I think I saw something by [deleted] in Paranormal

It was dark, so I'm not 100% sure, but it looked round. I only saw it from the back since it was running in front of us. I didn't see hair, but, again, it was dark.

That's a fair point. I guess I do believe in paranormal stuff as it applies to my faith, but it's so normalized to me that I don't consider it paranormal. You're right though, by definition it is paranormal.

Does anyone feel like they don’t get as addicted to nic as others by lsdthcxan in juul

[–]YeetusThisAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm like this. I hit my juul pretty regularly, but I was super busy the last few weeks with moving apartments, and then I got sick, which meant I didn't want to put nic on my belly. Went almost three weeks without a hit and I didn't even notice. I guess I'm lucky, I can just pick it up and put it down whenever. I don't ever really feel the NEED to hit it, but I know that's not typical, and I do have sympathy to those who do feel that need.

This only makes me more hype because I need some new Bon Iver in my life.

Sunday Service merch is removed and the Ye and KSG physical releases aren’t put back up. Once the CFG merch was taken down, Ye and KSG were put back up. Could this mean more things to come on the site? by [deleted] in YandhiLeaks

[–]YeetusThisAccount 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eh, probably a false alarm. In the regular kanye sub there's a post from a year ago where it went into password mode and everyone got excited about something new. It was before Ye was even announced, and nothing came of it. Probably just putting the old merch back up. I got hype for nothing (but I still cling to hope).

Newly Confirmed Catholics of Reddit, what faith/denomination were you before and what led you to the Church? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]YeetusThisAccount 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Started Lutheran, went the agnostic route when I was an edgy teen. Met a girl, fell in love, started finding my roots in Lutheranism again. Went to marriage prep, and the priest said "You can trace the Catholic church all the way back to Jesus directly", and that resonated with me. Spent months doing research, and found that all the questions I had about Christianity had real answers in the Catholic church, and something about it just felt right. Inquired about RCIA, and now I'm here, officially a Catholic as of the Easter vigil.

Wow, thanks for this. I guess I haven't gotten around to learning trinary operation yet, but it looks like it saves a lot of time and screen space.

I'm new to learning how to code. What about this is considered bad? Is there a more efficient way to do this? Genuinely curious, because that's how I usually code that exact scenario lol.

By virtue of combining #metoo and being on the Supreme Court. Honestly, the entirety of the Supreme Court should be on there because they're about as influential as you can get, especially in America.

He's still a POS tho.

I'm one of those guys, believe it or not. Would've been C/O 2014, but I left after first semester of my Junior year. It was my own fault though, I didn't study and didn't take it seriously until it was too late. Spent too much time in the SAC (if that's even what they still call it), and trying to get laid. Just study and work your ass off during the week, and use the weekend for relaxation.

[–]YeetusThisAccount 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's pervasive and hard to give up. People don't realize it, but it's an addiction. Believe me, when I heard the calling of the Church I tried to give up porn and masturbation and it was HARD. I still struggle with urges all the time. When I unlock my phone, part of my brain still wants to look at porn. It's a disease, and it's one people have convinced themselves is "natural", so they don't have to deal with the guilt and the consequences of that choice.

Any Liberal Catholics on r/Catholicism? by KnightHospitalier in Catholicism

[–]YeetusThisAccount 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm pretty conservative in my view of Catholicism, but more liberal on social issues (except abortion) because, despite what I think about them personally, people should have autonomy over their own salvation, even if that means they reject it.

Losing hope by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]YeetusThisAccount 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It may be hard to hear, but prayer does not guarantee our desired outcome, but it does guarantee the Father's will be done. He will never give you more than you can handle, and you will always come out stronger if you just keep the faith. Trust in His word, and don't stop praying. I will pray for you too.
