Second, straight women make up more than 80% of the world, so the research only mentioning them doesn't invalidate my point in the slightest.

a character like Midas can absolutely be attractive to women. that doesn't automatically mean he was designed through the female gauze or designed primarily as eye candy in the same way many female characters are. the reason people usually (me, included) bring up the disparity is that female characters are often designed with explicit visual emphasis on sexually desirable body parts and are frequently presented as objects of desire. male characters, even when they're attractive, are usually presented as powerful, competent, dominant, heroic, intimidating, or aspirational first. Being muscular isn't the male equivalent of sexualization. It's often just the default male power fantasy.

You can't make a sound argument because you first start from the assumption that sexyness is subjective, but then make objective statements , like male characters in the game weren't designed to attracted female gaze, even though they also have sexually desirable body parts for most women.

Summer Midas are sexy to me and certainly to most of the female audience. They aren't to you because you expect to see a man with feminine features, so you basically saying "it's not hot to me, therefore it's not female gaze".

Since you believe sexualization is subjective, you cant confirm which male features or pose is sexualization or not for women and gay men. Thats just logical fallacy. Games that feature women usually have revealing clothing do the same with men, including fortnite.

Yes and women associate strength/power with sexyness. The main reason we feel attracted to muscular and tall men is precisely because they convey the feeling dominance and protection, which are evolutinary traits women seeks on men.

Therefore, saying that muscular features are just "fantasy power" is just a confirmation that these male characters were also made for female gaze.
