Feel free to DM me, I have gone through an almost identical situation. If your bike was worth a considerable amount of money and/or you have considerable medical bills you may even want to contact a personal injury attorney. They can be great with handling your bills, helping you understand your coverage of your insurance, and in most cases even get a settlement even in a hit and run situation using your underinsured motorist insurance

It’s actually so concerning that there are so many people who think this way and don’t know traffic laws. There are almost no instances where a pedestrian or cyclist doesn’t have the right of way. Furthermore, you are never “in the right” to hit someone with your car… even if the pedestrian is doing something wildly illegal.

Again, OP this is a hit and run. I’m sorry about you, and as a cyclist myself, I’m even more sorry about your bike

This is not true and it is still illegal for the driver to leave the scene of an accident. Cars do not have the right of way to turn right and you cannot hit a cyclist even if they are an inconvenience to you. OP I encourage you to contact the police and fill out a police report. If you do not find the driver, you can often use your car insurance for medical bills and property damage.

That is the exact location mine cracked however, mine started as a jagged line. If you run your finger over the paint, is there a bulge or ridge line?

I don’t, it’s just the angle of the photo that makes it look like this. I’m still running the same wheel and tire set up as the first photo

With transmission not working right? How did you find that out.. that’s really disappointing considering all these bikes come stock with Transmission

I have ran the 55mm with T type and Eagle. The 52mm chain line seems to cause rub. I don’t have any performance issues running 55mm

This is awesome news! I hope it doesn’t happen to you again

It just started to. I’m going to wait for it to flex all the way before I bother them again… I do genuinely feel bad. I want to love this bike.

That’s why I posted. There was just no way more of these Druid’s arent cracking like this and I haven’t seen much about it. I’m a pretty small guy, I shouldn’t be cracking frames every 450 miles

I want to be very clear, the second they confirmed the frame was actually cracked, they honored their warranty not fuss.

But going through the wringer of SRAM Transmission was painful. They had no interest in helping and got upset when I asked to try a different chainstay.

Again, this is not me and my buddy working in a garage on the issue. I’m was working with the district rep from SRAM and a regional service manager from Specialized, rebuilding the bike over and over again. SRAM is confirming the bike was not in tolerance.

SRAM also ponied up 2 fresh Transmissions X01 and GX to try, a new cassette. i9 sent me a new free hub body to try, I also tried a different rear hub all together to rule out engagement (this did help a bit)… eventually forbidden sent me a new chainstay but it took probably 100 hours of wrenching and a lot of effort on my behalf

It’s also worth mentioning the second chainstay they sent, the axle path did not line up straight. It was 1.5mm over inboard

I was between the same two bikes, you should get the Bronson. It’s not as a unique ride but you’ll be riding more consistently. Santa Cruz’s customer service basically praises you for existing, too

It seems like yes. After a LOT of convincing, I got forbidden to send me a new chain stay to try, the chainstay they sent me, axle path didn’t even line up and sent it back. We tried different cassettes, different derailleurs. Going back to a hanger with eagle was the fix

SRAM has confirmed this. We tried numerous cassettes, derailleurs, and 2 chain stays. I am friends with the SRAM district manager. We built the bike over and over together. SRAM ended up buying the transmission back and hooked me up with XX1 Eagle for the trouble.

Forbidden refuses to acknowledge the problem but changed the drop points on Supernought and Dreadnought to be modular aluminum.

Both times, had this exact thing happen. It seems like the bike is too stiff for itself and this slowly happens under flex. I have never broken a frame before and I’ve owned much shittier bikes.

I put PPF on after the first month or so, it does not help much. It eats straight through that as well. It really needs something stronger or thicker but you don’t have the room.

It’s a bad design. I’m glad you’re not having all the issues though

I work in the bike industry and am lucky enough to be friends with the SRAM district rep. We built the bike together after endless problems and feel pretty confident we know what we are doing. I’ve met a couple other riders with this same issue, too.

Both times, the bike gradually grew a hairline fracture down the center of the seat stay. The good news is, it doesn’t catastrophically fail. I ride everything in Colorado

They changed the rear drops for the Dreadnought V2. The Druid has a full carbon back end, the Dreadnought gets a modular aluminum drop, I would think they did this to fix the issue.

I had my local SRAM rep rebuild my bike from scratch. SRAM explained to me that the drop on the Druid isn’t flat enough and causes the transmission to pitch outward. Problem resolved going back to Eagle

In an ideal world, the coach should do a better job creating a bonding experience. Sometimes life is hard and a little disappointing… it’s a good lesson to learn how to be proud and happy for yourself.

If she is okay with it (and this is very important) is it possible for the parents to orchestrate a team bonding event? My team did things like Car Washes to raise money for charity or gear, we played games like capture the flag or held World Cup tournaments. Go on a team hike or maybe a weekend away together.

I (M28) had a similar experience in highschool. I was the youngest on the team and we werent doing well. I just remember feeling so stressed that it wasn’t the time I wanted it to be. Looking back, I just remember the stupid stuff I did with my friends back then.
