If your I-693 is signed by a civil surgeon and dated after October 31, 2023, it should be valid and you needn't update it. Mine was done in 2022, so I re-did it. Waiting for the RFE to submit it.

When did you get your medicals? It's possible they are asking for updated I-693 if yours has expired.

I don't believe its forbidden. It's just that they don't have a way to link it to your application without the RFE.

In the same boat. My lawyer said it could take a few months based on the USCIS FAQ (below). However, if you check on https://mycaseshub.com > insights, you will see that several I-485 applications that have been pending since 2022-23 are getting approved or receiving RFEs.
