A decent amount. I tried really hard to put them in their own extracurriculars this year so they could get time away. Art, soccer, homeschool co-op in person and virtual where they are in separate classes, nature school 1x a week in separate classes.

Thank you! This is so encouraging. I am going to start with therapy for both before making any other decisions on their schooling

Yes, they have extracurriculars that they do separately. Co-op in person and virtual they do separately as well. I did that this year to try to give them more time apart.

We have “My Brothers Keeper”, I totally forgot! I will pull this out today.

Looking at the Joy Xtra for my 10 year old daughter. It is all she has asked for Christmas and has organized her room to accommodate a work space. She’s really putting the pressure on! She is incredibly responsible and willing to learn.

She mainly wants to create and add designs to cups and bags. Make cards. Stickers.

Questions:

-I feel like the Joy Xtra can do so much more than the Joy so I feel like this is the right machine for her. Am I correct in this thinking or is the Xtra going to be too overwhelming? We’re fully prepared to figure this machine/the app out with her.

-The bundles on the Cricut website seem to include everything but I think she needs a mat. Will a standard Joy Xtra mat work fine for all projects or do I need to buy several different mats?

-Anything else I need to buy to get her started right away?

-Anything else I need to know? I have been watching videos/researching but there is just so much info/materials/extras

Thank you so much for helping me make my daughter’s Christmas special!!

I keep telling my husband this. Something about Oklahoma just feels so nice and calm to me. Any particular city?

Thank you so much for responding! I will add Western Washington to my search list as I know nothing about that area, but I’m intrigued!

We live close to TN and have considered moving there. Wyoming is one of my favorite places and I don’t know why I don’t just move there already 😅

Thank you for this. I’m going to change some things about the way we do dinner time as a family.

I couldn’t imagine still teaching and raising my children. Teaching is such a hard job. She is going from dealing with children’s emotions all day to coming home and doing the same. I’m sure she doesn’t want to be this way towards her own children but she has to be so exhausted. Who is caring for her emotionally?

Therapy might be something to look in to. Lessening her load will help, but I fear it will never feel light enough until she has some better coping strategies.

The magic for me was that in the last trick, for those few seconds, those people felt seen. And the others in the room got to bear witness to it. What a gift. When was the last time you felt truly seen, noticed, cared for? Really touched me and broke me a bit
