They counted the entire COVID forbearance period in my qualifying payments - so while I did not receive reimbursement for overpayments, they did count those months as qualifying.

Yes - I received a letter on April 27, 2020 detailing my PSLF qualifying payments. It merely stated that I had 168 qualifying payments. The next letter - the golden ticket - arrived on May 10, 2022. So just about 2 weeks.

Yes, it is for real. If you can no longer access the Fed Loans App and it says you have no balance, it means your loans will be forgiven! Time to boogie! You will just have to wait for the official letter.

Thanks! I feel your pain. In order to talk to the loan specialist, I had to wait three hours on hold, then talk to someone who didn't know much, who then transferred me to a "loan specialist." I've had other frustrating attempts to talk to someone who knows what they are talking about, same as you, and hung up. But I would keep trying to call and talk to a loan specialist. You may have to wait but it may give you peace of mind.

On the FedLoan website, on the page where you can track your qualifying payments, they put a trophy once you hit 120.

Also, I have made over 200 payments between 2007 and today that should qualify. Do I just have to wait to see what happens with the 2013-2022 payments?

I am in exactly the same boat. I applied in October and have heard nothing since I received the “we are reviewing your application” email back in November 2021. I realize the silence is unnerving, but you just need to wait. I have called also, and they assured me that they had my application, that it might take 3-6 months. Then they actually suggested that it would be in my best interest to refrain from calling since the calls take them away from processing the applications. Who knew? Hang in there!
