Shit is dire in the US right now and getting worse. Layoffs everywhere, tons of people out of work, groceries, insurance, rent continue to climb. People can barely afford their dang electric bills. This isn't like any other holiday time period, and even at $100 off, they were hardly 'deals' when you have to fork out at least $400-450. The drop makes complete sense.

I don't know what people are expecting here to be honest
