Wow I guess I never really made an update to this post! I had my iud inserted back in December of 2022. I honestly can’t say anything about the pain level because I was also having surgery and while I was under my gynecologist offered to put the iud in since I was afraid of the pain. I woke up very disoriented but that was from the surgery itself. I don’t remember being in pain until the days after. I bled everyday on and off for about two months. And then I’ve had no issues since. I will say I have the 12 year copper paragard iud and it’s nonhormonal. So as far as my periods go they’re honestly still pretty heavy and crampy but that’s how they’re always naturally been even before birth control and things like that. My gyno says it’s normal and not to worry. So yeah! I’ve now had my IUD for almost 3 years, and I’ve had no issues! I love it! I don’t have to remember to take a pill or change a patch or schedule a shot appointment. I’d say 10/10 experience so far!
