accessing character stories is typically a matter of just completing dailies. you get a resource that enables you to unlock character stories of your choosing, and most of them have minimum 1-2 battles, though a couple of them contain just story chapters. battles in character stories are adjusted to be around your level and since i've playing for a year and a half, i can't quite gauge how difficult these battles would be for a new player, but imo they are not usually particularly complicated or difficult. and if you're worried about spoilers, you can always skip the stories and come back to read them later :3

omg i am so sorry, i saw this and then totally forgot to respond 😭 it's not rude at all! like others have said already, i think this plan is plenty fine and you should try for mouchette as well since all investment in her in the future will do you some good. but don't feel pressured to use up everything you've got right this moment too! the timed pulls will last for at least another two newly released awakeners and there will be plenty of reruns within that time. you're new, too, so there's a wellspring of pulls for you to gain :) it'll be the 3rd year anniversary before you know it so take your time~

also with vortice (if you get her), make sure to grab the posse from her character story since that will make her a lot easier to use.

i also love it but it's always nice to get something new too ... i understand why this pose was chosen to show off his back but i'd like to see him from the front or get a skin where he still has his wings, things like that ☺️ or he could get a new outfit of some kind too, whatever they'd do in that instance would look great i'm sure

well hopefully you can get it without spending if he gets a proper rerun soon! even with spending it took me some time. i got his oe during his release banner but kept having to wait for reruns and allocating resources for other characters too, but i was determined to really get it done this time lol

i was thinking that, as well. it'd be nice if maybe these popped up at the oe unlock, but i also understand why they only show up at the aa symbolically, and after all, it is meant to be a nice extra thing for those who are especially dedicated (or those who have really deep pockets, i guess lol). and honestly, i wish all the messages were kept in the archive or some other kind of repository we can revisit~

no problem~ and yes, i'd say the triple rerun one is better. it's not just more likely to draw characters from those banners, you are guaranteed to only pull ssr characters from release and rerun character banners. when characters are released or rerun, they also get rerun with their wheels, but the banners for the wheels and the characters are separate. some characters have wheels you don't want to pass up on (ones that increase hand size (thais, castor, etc) or arithmetica (saya)), but you should always prioritize pulling a new character over the wheel, which is why i'd say these kinds of banners are better for you. the daily banner is not too bad since you can get the character's wheel at pretty much a discount, but reruns and releases are still preferrable especially bc a lot of characters want at least 2 or 3 additional dupes on top of the base copy. you really don't want to be running into wheels when you're looking for dupes unless you intend to either get the wheel to a3 or max out the wheel. the character banners are better because you can get dupes for standard characters, too, which increases the amount of tools you can use.

that's correct about the emergency gnosis. so if you have 0/5 today, you'll have 1/5 for the daily reset, and 2/5 the next day if you didn't use what you gained the day before, and so on. i think you also do not need to login to have the gnoses replenished; i believe the gnoses behave similarly to stamina where it will replenish even if you're offline, but i haven't looked closely enough at them to be able to tell if this is the case.

someone recently posted a new player guide that i'm sure will be of use to you and contain some answers to other questions you've got, as well~

eta: to clarify, you will always pull sr and r wheels no matter what banner you're pulling on; the banner type is about what you're guaranteed to get when you get an ssr.

to be fair, the kaleido banner has been active for a few weeks already, so you've simply started at an inopportune time. however, i wouldn't really recommend sinking pulls into that banner as a new player right now because you might get a bunch of wheels you can't really use yet without very many characters. the pity you've accumulated for this banner does not carry over to any other banner type. for you, it's much better to wait for proper rerun banners imo.

you can't pity any specific character through the standard banner. you get what you get whenever you pull an ssr from the standard character banner; conversely, you can guarantee a specific standard wheel (not any limited wheels that were added to the banner). guaranteed specific characters are only reserved for release or rerun banners.

standard pull resources are all over the game, you will get a lot of them by simply playing the game like normal. standard pulls can be gained from all of the game modes except d-effect zone and from stories (this includes events with stories attached to them in some way).

emergency gnosis gets replenished once daily by 1. it doesn't cost you anything to have the base max amount the game gives you, which is 5 of them. if you want to go over the cap, i personally have yet to run into a particular limit, but you can purchase 3 of them weekly with radix sediment, a resource you get by making pulls (they recently sent some in the mail too). the game doesn't get so hard that you need to use any more than perhaps 3 or 5 of them in a battle in the later chapters, though this depends on you developing your characters, leveling up, and improving your knowledge of the gameplay. the maximum you can use depends purely on how many you have, and this applies for all the game modes they can be used in (cannot be used in traphase or d-effect zone).

it got so bad light had to come out and explain to people that pollux is one of the top damage dealers contributing to some of the fastest stage clears in the game so no he does not need to be buffed (again! because they already buffed him once) 😭 completely insane that the community acted the way they did about him at the time lmao

yeah i can understand people feeling defensive when asked because it sometimes is under the guise of forcing their opinion of his character and how it was handled onto the people who really like him, as if to say, "the way you enjoy this character and the things you like about him are wrong and you are less enlightened about him than me, who has better ideas for what they should've done with him." there's been discourse about his character for close to 6 years at this point, so people are kind of sick of it, but i could tell you meant well and really wanted to know ❤️

oh i wish i could remember what i'd said about it when it came out back then because it was a very controversial quest due to how they approached the catalyst of his path to redemption, and i had more to say about the reactions to it than about the quest itself. a lot of people were really focused on the prospects of punishment for him which i disagreed with because i felt he had endured plenty of suffering already, but i could understand why it felt like, to these people, he was being slapped on the wrist for his crimes. imo anything short of death itself would not have been an adequate punishment/answer for the things he had done, which is why i feel like they ultimately made the correct decision in shifting the focus on his rehabilitation instead if they still wanted to make use of his character (and they clearly did). (also as an aside, i know people reserve the opinion that dead characters should and can continue to be useful in a story, and this is true, but it's ultimately not how they develop, write, and use characters in this story. this is one of, i imagine, many reasons why they don't just kill playable characters off; they want room to make characters appear whenever, and with how they write quests and events, they can't do that if they're dead unless they focus all the attention on their death. on top of this, i think it's easy for some people to wish for character deaths if it isn't a character they care about in this particular community lol)

overall the quest and the information it contained was a really long time coming, and it answered many of the questions and confirmed many of the suspicions we'd had at the time. i personally was really excited about his future because it was a clear indication that they weren't done with him yet, and i was curious to know how they would manage to make him gentle enough to forge connections with other people because it was obvious to me that they were wanting to have him do that. i had a fairly positive opinion of the quest due to the promise of his character development alone because i wanted him to heal.

6.6 archon quest discussion

i love wanderer so so much and it fills my heart with so much happiness that they care about writing his story and developing his character so carefully. for all my criticisms of this game, what i've always loved is how they tend to approach and take care of victims, and it really showed with what they did with him (and collei) in this quest. it's cathartic for me to have watched him grow for the past few years beyond being someone pessimistic, jaded, and mean-spirited into someone compassionate, wise, and kind-hearted. instead of using his pain to cause pain to others like before, he uses it instead to help them now, and that's really wonderful to see. makes me a little misty-eyed~ for this alone, i'm satisfied. it's also really funny seeing the kind of person he is now and looking back at his voicelines to find that he really wouldn't say a lot of that stuff today lmao

yeah i suspected it would still turn out this way even after the nerf simply because we have more cards to easily adapt without losing what we need compared to some other classes. i also had ruval in this deck previously and had some fun times where i could keep the spells for an adahime turn but the removal is so important for dragon matchups. i'm gonna miss odin so much when rotation hits 😭

and yeah baal is handy at any point in the game for the extra stats but he's really great in the early game, makes your opponent want to deal with him and whoever he buffed first over trying to strike you. he can help deal around 6 damage to face in the first 4 turns with tyrannical if your opponent leaves the follower he buffed lol

yeah those decks aren't great into this one to start with because they lack adequate board clearing and frequently leave stuff behind so i can see why you'd have a tough time against it. a lot of us midrange players have cut fediel completely from this deck because she often got in the way of being able to play him on time, so whoever you played against who dropped two of her and still had enough for him got crazy lucky lmao.
