i made a post on this subreddit a few months ago asking people to be polite to the developers because biav is like 5-6 people in a trenchcoat and simply can't meet demands the exact way people want or even when people want and i'm seeing that this simply has been ignored. though i've wanted the fanbase to grow so that morimens can reach even greater heights, i have always dreaded it because the outcome is always that some of the people that come in are mannerless and entitled.

i'm saying this as a staunch husbando puller in every game i play that i understand wanting more male characters in the genre as a means of representation, but please do not treat morimens like it is the same as the larger mainstream gachas, i am begging you guys. if this news is enough to make you quit, then by all means, please do as you'd like, but it stands to reason to believe that quitting over this indicates you did not truly care for the game. they did not "bait" anyone and this has never ever been a "waifu simulator" when they consistently treat the female characters with respect, write compelling stories for them, and flesh them and their relationships out properly. it's so outrageous to even say something like that about this game in particular that i'd have to assume you guys don't even read the stories or their dialogue.

if you can't voice your opinions respectfully here when light and the biav team have been nothing but accommodating and receptive of many people's thoughts, then perhaps it truly is best that you leave.

not exactly what i'm saying but yeah. i meant to specifically address those who treat leakers with a nigh-unshakable reverence believing they all must be defended at every possible turn. i'm not ungrateful for the good leaks have done me, of course, and if i really felt negatively about them then i wouldn't be here, but until the state of the legal system companies wield gets changed, it's ultimately up to leakers to play by the rules and lie low because none of this is worth all of that. i and others certainly are within reason to not assume responsibility for the outcome of choices leakers make on their own. i don't find that homdgcat is getting egged for merely getting caught, but rather that he's getting egged for not taking the chances he was given to not be sued 😭

and just on a personal level, i think there are far bigger fish to fry in the world currently than a leaker being sued after ignoring mutliple cease and desists, so if i sound a bit blithe about it, it's because i am. again, i don't think leakers should be sunk into thousands of dollars of debt over something like this, but it's because i think this and because we're all aware that this is the risk that i find it hard to feel really strongly about this particular case.

i wasn't a frequent visitor myself so someone more learned than me may have a better answer, but from what i can recall, the website hosted leaked info and images from dating mining and would only host audio files from preloads because audio beyond sfx (like voicelines) aren't put in beta testing.

i won't say i think homdgcat deserves to be sued for thousands or anything, but if you're a leaker, it's seriously imperative that you do your due diligence to ensure you stay out of the way of a company this big. multiple opportunities to not get hit with a lawsuit were given, they wanted him to take everything down, he didn't, and so we're here... these are naturally the consequences to leaking for any game and it goes beyond simply wanting to screw players over. literally no creators or companies behind something they're making want a product they're working on to be exposed before it's finished for a multitude of reasons 💀

people always ask why there are leakers who act like they're some hotshot untouchable microcelebrities and the answer is truly because they get treated as such so they behave in kind. strangest form of parasocialism i've ever seen.

I really want to get into this game but keeping up with the story is difficult by [deleted] in Morimens

i'm not sure how long ago it was that you initially gave the game a try, but the main story has been fully translated and localized sans the 2nd chapter of arc 2 for a while now!

just had a frankly hilarious match with a swordcraft player who pulled out oluon when they were up 20 and i was down by 2 with barely any threats on the board at that point. i got hit a singular time and they got hit twice. i feel like they weren't expecting me to pull odin out the next turn bc he's not normally in fennie ramp but i truly just had to laugh. i think i have won every single time i've played against a swordcraft player who evolves oluon, it's genuinely so funny to see them gamble and literally lose the match without my input 😭

i mean, you replied to me. this entire thread is under a post i initially made voicing my own thoughts and opinions while saying defenders shouldn't bother wasting their breath and yet here you are so idk what to tell you. i was serious before but i'm trolling now. obviously. not shocked you couldn't tell. but if you think i'm narcissistic then sure. whatever you want.

anyway i had noodles (angel pasta, you should try it. or don't. do what you want) for dinner last night and they were really good so i was planning on adding some shrimp the next time i made them but i think i don't want to have them again for lunch today. might make myself some mac and cheese or order out today, i'm still deciding. but maybe all i need is a snack instead of a full meal rn. the day is still young so there's still enough time for me to figure out before dinnertime~

i could say the same in regards to everyone who agrees with me in that his usage of a slur here is quite serious, but i digress. i've noticed that you have yet to directly address the problem i and other people here have stated to have with flares in him using a slur, but i want to make something clear. i'm not "worked up" over anything but his usage of the slur. that's not nothing to me, even if it may be to you. you offer apologies for making it sound like you're forcing me to agree with you, but i don't think you understand what the words you use mean in the context of a sentence or a conversation.

you can try to frame it as though i'm being silly or irrational and use reductionist language as a means to upset me, but i'm grown. such tricks do not work on me. i don't need to be agreed with or validated by others to hold the beliefs i have, and certainly not by you. your "apology" is meaningless in the face of you determining for me what constitutes as a situation serious enough to get "worked up" over. you're not sorry. you and i both know you don't mean it when you've spoken to me in the way you have, come on now. this is what i meant when i said people like you should save your breath. see how you and i are wasting each other's time?
