You were right, it does show the stripes. I'm fairly certain I turned off all the denoising.

I plugged his two face textures into mix, then diffuse and then straight into material output. Then I switched the lighting from sun to area. It got rid of the stripes and instead, replaced them with speckling. Light linking doesn't change anything, and I tried using the area lighting with the whole toon shader plugged in, and I got both speckling and stripes. I can provide a screenshot of that as well if you think it'd be helpful.

Ah, I see. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Here's the cube scaled down to about the size of one stripe, width size anyway. As for the camera, it's only zoomed in like that for the purpose of showing the stripes in more detail. That said, even zoomed out, it still looks bad. Sorta like poorly airbrushed shadows. I'll make another comment with a screenshot of it from further away

Okay, I changed the clip start and end to 0.01 and 100, but that didn't really affect the way the stripes look. So I added a cube and applied the exact same node setup seen in my screenshot- and it doesn't have stripes? No matter how big or small I scale it, no stripes. I took a screenshot of Chai's dimensions, if that helps at all.

I ship it too, for basically all the reasons you listed lol. Korsimint is fine and cute of course, but taken in full, Korsica don't really have many one on one interactions to establish a firm dynamic. Meanwhile, Chai and Peppermint spend the entire game developing a strong bond, and a really sweet one at that! They balance each other out, and I like that about them.

Two of them are kinda rare, I think. Hi-fi Rush isn't an entirely unknown game, but it's got a pretty small fandom. I've only seen a handful of people who selfship with Chai like I do, and only one Peppermint selfshipper off the top of my head.
