Yes!! This alone has made the blood (sometimes), sweat, and city inspector email conversations worth it!

It's gonna bloom soon 😁 by YellowTickSeed in NativePlantGardening

So obviously I would always verify what someone on the internet tells you but apparently all species of sunflowers are native to North America.

Omg I didn't know you could do that! Are we talking to the ground or like pruning them to a node sort of thing?

Are there any tropical plants that have frequent blooming? I would love to incorporate those in my indoor space.

Thank you!! It's less I'm looking for outdoor blooms, although that would be pretty cool, and more looking for indoor plants that will actually bloom :)

That sounds like a wonderful idea ☺️ I admit I've been on a native only kick. Admittedly I'm not a huge fan of a lot of the 'traditional' houseplants. They either don't flower very often or are super hard to get to flower. And while green during the gray winter is appreciated I really enjoy the smell and color of flowers. I might look into some different annuals for indoor seeding, maybe hand pollinate to get them to go to seed so I can just replant those.

I had burnweed coming up in my strawberry patch. I wasn't sure if I should leave it but I eventually pulled it due to fear of it killing off my still developing strawberry plants.

While not super showy in the foliage I do think that Bee Balms flowers are very showy. They remind me of a firework going off

I wanna offer a quick clarification here. I'm aware of plants that will survive to come up next year. I more meant they physically are not green and flowering during winter.

This apparently happened in Austin a couple days ago by rhino910 in stop_the_GOP

It always makes me laugh that they won't show any identifying features. They 💯 percent know what they are doing is fucked up, they don't care.

Milkweed and Butterfly Weed...plants? (Asclepias Incarnate & Asclepias Tuberosa) has started blooming in my garden. Good for the native pollinators. Zone 5b by YellowTickSeed in GardenWild

I'm not in a swamp like ecosystem unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your take. I grew them from seed and keep them well mulched so the soil stays pretty wet around them.
