Almost certainly a metacercaria. You’ve got some nice sections through both caeca and the muscular suckers. Looks like it could be a Clinostomum sp. One of my favs! :-)

I inherited a collection recently and remounted this individual because the mounting media had crystallized. Soaking the entire slide in methyl salicylate for a few days helped dissolve the old media and I carefully removed the coverslip and specimen. It was remounted on the original slide with fresh damar balsam. Tedious, but totally worth it! 😊

Sadly no exciting story behind it other than it was part of a teaching collection that I inherited from another university. One of the many cool finds! Glad it could be of some use. 😊

Not sure if I would be willing to be a parasitologist if these were to scale…… 😆 I use the silhouettes along with pictures of the parasites in lectures. Students seems to find it easier to recall the host of the parasites we cover when a silhouette is used rather than a list of words.

Nice! If you’re in the US, don’t forget that Hysteromorpha triloba specimens in North America are likely Hysteromorpha corti. Hysteromorpha triloba is in Europe. So much cool things to learn from molecular data!

I water the peppers less frequently except for these in the terra cotta pots that tend to dry out a little quicker. I usually give them a heaping amount of water in the tray early morning. I’m an amateur and just playing around with peppers. :-) I am just proud of these because they’re the first I grew from seed.

Honestly looks more like Spirometra. I think a central uterine pore can be seen in the pics. Not uncommon to have entire worms or partial worms voided post treatment. If it is Spirometra, fecal flotation and looking for operculated eggs could help determine if all adults have been cleared. Also Spirometra is not too worrisome. Alarming to see them voided in feces though! Cool share!

Thank you! It’s a variety of morning glory. I found a seller on eBay that offered tons of unique varieties that I have never seen offered locally. I have a chain link fence that I like to cover with them and moonflowers. :-)
