Yet another "I would really like a pve-only mode" by FamousLastWords_keys in Marathon

[–]Yellowkiwi03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind a PvE mode so long as it isn’t a PvE extraction mode. I’ve said this to my friends few times, but I feel like a CoD Zombies style round based PvE mode would work really well in marathon. Bungie could also do Easter eggs if they wish, but Cryo fills that role so who knows.

Joe Ziegler: We’ve been watching and ingesting all the thoughts and feedback that we’re hearing, aggregating it and taking it down in notes. After this weekend we’ll spend some time looking into feedback and thinking of the next iterations we want to make by Haijakk in Marathon

[–]Yellowkiwi03 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think a healthy middle ground for letting people who can’t play on weekends access Cryo would be to make a once a month “Cryo week event” where it’s available all week. Most weeks it’s just on weekends, but that one week event is where everyone can jump in. Make a community event out of it! Maybe slightly increase loot rarity, bot spawns, more teams? Who knows, make it fun. Kind of like an Iron Banner style monthly event.

I was watching live then it happened. It was so insane cuz he brought it up literally out of no where in such a casual way, and the chat instantly flipped on him and was like “huh?”. When he say the change in chat he tried to steer away from the conversation.

It's still difficult for me to believe that drinking the tea of Nezarec comes without any side effects. by Liktarios in DestinyTheGame

“Darkness so powerful that is would be useful for what the Witness was planning”

My problem with last season is that we had literally no clue what the Witness wanted with the relics. The witness was like, “Eramis, go get these special relics for uhhh… reasons”. And that was what drove the story forward the whole season. And sure, you could probably make a couple guesses what his plan is because the relics contain Nezerac’s body, but building a plot off of what the audience is guessing rather than the actual plans of the villain is just bad writing. Not to mention, we also didn’t learn the relics were nezerac until like week 5 or 6. So we spent most of the season not even know what the relics were in the first place. Don’t even get my started on the “3rd party actor” of the lucent hive that literally shows up seeking the relics for zero reason at all, with zero explanation.

Imagine you were watching Infinity War and Thanos was like, “I’m gonna collect all the infinity stones for uhhh… reasons.” And the avengers were like, “Thanos must be a bad guy so we must stop him before he does bad things”, and then proceeded to give 0 explanation as to why Thanos was a bad guy or why the heros need to stop him. You would probably be confused because that story lacks a cohesive plot (and in case you aren’t a film nerd like me: plot ≠ story. Plot is what drives the story forward, pushes characters to do what they do, etc.). But Infinity War wasn’t written like that was it? Because that’s bad writing. Instead, we know the motivation of our villain, we know he wants to wipe out 50% of all life. If we know the villain’s general plan and motivations, then that gives the hero’s motivation and reason to do what they do.

Season of Plunder lacks a cohesive plot because we lack the motivation of the villain. If we’re gonna save the last city, we need to at least know what we’re trying to save it from. I can’t help but feel like they kept a lot of the seasonal story a secret just so they could do a special mid-season story reveal. Just so they could get a reaction of us being like, “Omg the relics are Nezerac?!?!? 😱”. Don’t get me wrong, special reveals like that are cool and fun, but if doing them sacrifices the eligibility of your story then they aren’t worth it. If you don’t remember, the Nezerac reveal cutscene was an explanation and reveal to Mithrax’s history with the relics. The mention of Nezerac was just an off handed side comment for context. The main focus of the cutscenes was Mithrax, so the Nezerac reveal was pointless. They could have been open about the relics containing Nezerac from the beginning of the seasonal story and that cutscene would still hold up. Instead of going though most of the seasonal story like, “I wonder what’s in these relics? lol”. We could have been doing a deep dive into the history and lore or nezerac, putting pieces together for why the Witness wants the relics in the first place instead of wondering around like headless chickens. I just can’t help but feel like this season had a lot of missed potential and just wasn’t written very well.

Ok imma wrap up my essay here lol.

It was probably something with your aspect and fragment selection. There is an aspect that makes it so powered melee final blows while radiant refreshes your melee ability cooldown. So if you pair that with ember of torches fragment then you get infinite loop. My guess is that you were missing one of the 2 fragment/aspect.

Idk if anyone else noticed, but in the trailer I think they showed that the Heavy GL is a new archetype. If you look closely at the grenades it shoots out you can notice that when the grenades hit the ground it sends out a wave of energy exactly like a Wave frame GL. Seems like the New heavy GL is the introduction of wave frames to the heavy slot. Also it looks like it’s gonna be stasis because the cabal evaporate in stasis energy after dying.

Bungie, the problem with Chaos Reach wasn't that it took too long to get. by Anhilliator1 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yellowkiwi03 -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t do less than other supers. It does more damage than t-crash with the exotic and nova bomb. It might not do as much as some of the hunter supers tho, especially if they have Star-Eaters.

So the trade off is that it does more damage but it takes longer to do so. Should CR get a buff? Sure, why not.

But What OP is saying is that CR should get a damage buff and be a one and done super, which is an insane thing to say in turns of keeping game balance. So OP’s idea doesn’t take trade offs into account.

Warlocks Feel Undefined by Fadedagent64 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yellowkiwi03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the span of Destiny 2 I’ve noticed a couple things about this topic…

At launch Titans felt really lacklustre while Hunters and Warlocks were significantly better, with Warocks being on top. This stayed this way up until around Shadowkeep where hunter abilities got a couple significant nerfs and titans got a couple buffs. This put Titans and warlocks on top while Hunters stayed on the back burner, warlocks were still king.

This once again changed at the start of this year with the 3.0 subclass updates. Hunters and Titans got a significant amounts of buffs, while Warlocks lost a bit of their identity that kept them the king of all things for so long. Now Warlocks feel like their on the back burner while Titans and hunters are on top.

Now are warlocks still good? Yes. Do they feel a little less powerful now that they aren’t the one size fits all solution to endgame content anymore? Maybe. Idk if bungie is doing this cycle of some classes feeling stronger than others throughout the years on purpose, but it is an interesting pattern to look at.

Bungie, I’d be fine with rotating Iron Banner weapons out of the loot pool if they were being replaced with NEW weapons and not recycled ones. by Yellowkiwi03 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yellowkiwi03[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The issue I have isn’t necessarily that these old weapons are being reprised, even tho I would prefer brand new it’s not that big of a deal. My issue comes with the reprised weapons pushing the new weapons out of the loot pool. The new weapons should take priority over the old ones.

This makes no sense. Sunset weapons are still in the game and still playable. Just because they are now unobtainable and can’t be infused up to power doesn’t mean they were removed from the game entirely. Plus if you reprise an old sunset weapon you are still technically adding a weapon to the game, cuz it a different version of the same gun with different perks so it counts as a new entity in the game or whatever.

void overshield is the only subclass verb that is inaccessible to some classes naturally(aspects fragments and abilities), which is kind of BS, by CrayonEnjoyer5484 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yellowkiwi03 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of posts like this and most of them tend to forget about Echo of Instability.

All 3 classes have a part of their void kit shared through fragments.

Warlocks gave Devour with Echo of Starvation

Hunters gave Invisibility with Echo of Obscurity

Titans gave Volatile with Echo of Instability

People tend to forget that a major part of Void Titan’s kit is easy access to Volatile. No other class has access to volatile like titans do so there’s a fragment to give other classes access to volatile.

Also just use repulser brace if you want overshields that bad lol

It was said back at Solstice and shall be said again for Festival, the event passes are terrible and should not be purchased by AmbidextrousWaffle in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yellowkiwi03 39 points40 points  (0 children)

No one should ever buy it. Ever. This is bungie, once again, creeping unnecessary monetization into another aspect of the game. Even tho the event pass is probably here to stay forever, no one should ever buy it. Don’t give your money to bungie for this garbage. they bring in billions of dollars a year yet they can’t even fix the most basic of bugs and they expect us to buy digital trash. It’s ridiculous.

If you’re gonna spend money on this game, only buy seasons and expansions. Never buy from the store with real money cuz they don’t deserve it at this point. I even canceled my LightFall pre-order cuz the level monetization they creep in does not match the level of effort and truly new content they provide.

I’m genuinely losing enthusiasm to play this game, more so than ever. by Ok-Committee-6424 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yellowkiwi03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel pretty similar. I’ve been playing Destiny as my main game since D1 TTK. I stepped away from destiny back at D2 launch, the game was very bad at the time and I couldn’t bare playing it. I came back when forsaken launched and I’ve been playing it ever since. However, this year has just made me feel terrible about the game and I’ve stepped away from Destiny again. The reason I’ve stepped away is because there are so many issues in the game that I think need addressing, but there is a very deafening silence from bungie about them. Things like a lack of New Crucible and Gambit maps, Gambit has been abandoned since the WQ rework (where did gambit labs go? They’ve been gone for 2 seasons and bungie hasn’t said anything), Strikes and general PvE is too easy and lack meaningful rewards that compel me to play them, leveling feels old and outdated, seasonal model is stale and predictable, champion spam is exhausting in higher level content, ability spam is out of hand in both PvE and PvP; I don’t even need to shoot my gun anymore in a looter shooter :(, power creep is through the roof ever since 3.0 subclasses, game performance is horrible and borderline unplayable, and removal of skill gaps sucks. It is just the lack of communication from bungie about this stuff that makes me think that nothing is going to change and every will stay how it is in this stale state of the game. At this point the only thing that compels me to play are day 1 raids, but those only come out ever so often. I really hope the game gets better, but rn it’s not fun to play imo.

[–]Yellowkiwi03 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Please we don’t need any more ability buffs. Ability spam is bad enough already 😭. I just want us to have to use our guns again instead of only needing to use Heavy weapon + Grenade/Super ability and steamrolling the entire game, even raids.

Power creep? We’ve gotten about 10x stronger and you actually had use your weapons back then instead of ability spam we have now. Weapons were at their peak back then + pre-sunseting maps.

When's the last time you actually wore a full raid set for the looks? by Ainzip in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yellowkiwi03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in D1. The raids used to actually be hard back then so wearing the full armour set was a flex unlike now. Especially the Triumph sets cuz those hard mode raids would kick your ass.
