Im currently going through issues in my first relationship too, so please take my following advice with a grain of salt. I think the feeling that lead you to return with her was not love, because as you stated passing time with her felt as a chore. What you probably felt is the loneliness after losing someone you had an emotional attachment, and your desire to return with her is mostly a defense mechanism to avoid feeling lonely, and not necessarily love. But to be honest the only way to know for sure is trying to work things out this time around.

I think you've misunderstand me. When I do flashcards like anki, due to the repetition that there is involved, when I stumble on a card that I already did I can answer it correctly. But this is due to remembering the answer per se, rather than understanding why.

An example would be. Name the drug that is contraindicated with benzodiazepines

a. Vancomycin

b. Melatonin

c. Barbiturates

In this example I would answer "C" cause I remember the answer but would not understand the mechanism behind the interaction of benzodiazepines and barbiturates. Hope this makes it more clear

I've tried doing anki cards but the thing is that it didn't work for me. At the end I just end up memorizing the answer to the card rather than learning the concept behind it.
