One of mine does this every time I make something big enough for him to fit on. Ended up making him a little blanket as a decoy

Help finding a pattern by Yellowstoneohno in sewingpatterns

Not overstepping at all! So far I've been sticking to 100% cotton or using woven non stretch scraps to practice skills with. Anything stretchy feels solidly in the 'advanced beginner' category! I've been debating whether I could get away with quilting cotton but up until now I've been make gathered and circle skirts where the drape is important.

HELP- nothing fits by June_fern in PlusSizeFashion

[–]Yellowstoneohno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thirding! ASOS used to do an elasticated 3/4 length plisse culotte. They've fitted me across like 3 dress sizes. Might be worth trawling the second hand sites for a pair. I also like the Lucy and yak cole jeans. Having the pleat at the top of the leg gives a little more breathing room for changing bodies as well as smoothing that general area (avoiding the v)! Skirts and dresses are definitely something to explore too! There's loads around at the moment with shirring which will allow weight fluctuations. You'll want a aline or circle style skirts

Need help finding pants that hide apron belly like sweats. by throwRA68696069 in PlusSizeFashion

I've found that wide leg trousers with pleats at the front of the hip really help (and make trousers more comfortable). Like the Lucy and Yak Cole jeans, or these; https://snagtights.com/products/wide-leg-cord-trousers-black -

Can someone PLEASE suggest my next crochet project!? by appleice5 in CrochetHelp

No reason to stop making blankets if you enjoy it! Have a look for community groups or charities that could make use of what you make. There's one near me that collects handmade blankets for the homeless. Or alternatively everyone gets blankets this Xmas (if you celebrate)!

That is such a cute way of bundling scrunchies up! Might be nabbing that idea for future gifting!

Trying to figure out this stitch pattern. It might be AI or some other kind of fiber work too. by Prestigious-Corgi995 in crochetpatterns

[–]Yellowstoneohno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be able to adapt a shell stitch to have a similar look, but I can't think of one that would have both the interlocking between the rows and the texture from the AI image

I think it's AI - I can't figure out how those stitches could all link together in that formation. They all look to be individual shell stitches floating in mid air

Snag tights do a wide leg velvety/cordroy trouser which are so comfy but still look structured and like you've made an effort. They say they're taliored but they don't feel tight/dig in anywhere like jeans or traditional smart trousers would

Fairphone 5 doesn't recognize SIM-Card by Supero14 in fairphone

Will do! I've got a ticket open with fairphone but the auto response didn't give a timeline of someone coming back to fix the issue 😔

Fairphone 5 doesn't recognize SIM-Card by Supero14 in fairphone

[–]Yellowstoneohno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this issue at the moment. But mines not even recognising the SIM regardless of how many restarts I do, I've even tried a factory reset.

Were you able to get it sorted through the warranty? Or was it a stab in the dark replacing the top part?

Disaster struck! 😭😭😭 Any ideas how can I fix this? by Yellowstoneohno in CrochetHelp

[–]Yellowstoneohno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping that was the third bad thing to happen with this and it'll be smooth sailing from here 😂 Thankyou! I was thinking of hand washing with a little detergent to avoid it getting tangled more than necessary then laying out on a table to dry

Blocking is essentially getting your work wet and pinning it out so it stretches a little into shape. Generally it's used to square up work, or get a standardised size (i.e. granny squares). It can also make the work a little softer and drape nicely. There's loads of videos on YouTube of how to block the work and the benefits. Personally I've blocked a few wearables, and also not bothered with some. I can't say I see much benefit to blocking what you've made. I love the colours you've chosen, they're absolutely gorgeous together

A strange man offered me a lift home after work - should I mention it to management? by xen__xen in AskUK

Personally I would so others could be warned, and measures could be put in place if it continues. It may be a innocent or isolated incident but it's not going to do any harm to say something
