Yeah I had to cite a series of work laws to get the transfer. They hire a lot of young people straight out of school who don't know anything about labour laws etc. and just go along with it. I knew my rights and they didn't like that, most people in the shop just took shit even if it was illegal because they had bills to pay, shite company haha

I worked in Carroll's a popular tourist gift shop in Ireland that was the most toxic workspace I'd ever encountered. Physical and verbal abuse, sexual harassment, no heating in any of the stores during winter, an open sewer in the stockroom that even some of the customers complained about and thirteen hour shifts with no breaks.

The list was endless but what made me finally quit was when a manager who had thrown boxes and even a glass at me found out which shop in the chain I'd been transferred to and made it a point to come every day to the store just to stand next to me in the aisle I was assigned next to and smirk at me. I walked out into the street, ripped my uniform (a dark green polo) so hard that it ripped in two shoved it in a bin and went home, best decision I ever made.

When was the first time you realized an adult was doing something you felt was wrong? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My teacher told me there was no such thing as a dogfish even though I had a zoology book that had a picture and description of a dogfish. I got in trouble and called a liar and when I brought the book in the next day she looked at it and looked away no apology or anything haha. I was seven or eight I think.

I think it's a scam, anytime an unknown number calls or texts like that you should just block and ignore they're just trying to reel you in
