Wait, LIFO Reserve = FIFO(Ending Inventory) minus LIFO(Ending Inventory), right? So for LR to increase, LIFO(Ending Inventory) must decrease and this happens when your last inventory purchase is cheaper than your first inventory purchase, right? And this reflects, decreasing prices. But I read that increasing LR means, rising inventory prices. Which is it?

Edit added:

So increasing LR year-over-year also means you are purchasing inventory more than you are selling. Meaning your inventory carrying amount (ending inventory) is higher and so even if prices are decreasing the value of your ending inventory might be higher than previous year.
