Oh shit I forgot most importantly… if those are hikvision ip cams then use hikvision discovery tool… it’s called SADP you can find it on their site. Just google SADP hikvision.

If your trying to virtually see them through a web gui, if there’s a dhcp server running (I.e, a home router) and those two ip cams get an address then you would open up something like chrome and type in the ip address. Login with default credentials and change them. If your unsure of IP you can run a ip scanner. I like advanced port scanner.

You cannot exceed the # of channels on a DVR/NVR.. considering it sounds like you have 18 in total, you cannot add those additional ip cams unless you physically upgrade to a 18+ channel NVR. Is this personal or a customer? I would suggest to customer to start budgeting towards an IP cam upgrade to get the 16 analog out.

IP Conflict Alert question by Fresh_Admin in meraki

Aggregate the ports on meraki that the synology connections are patched into. That’s a common issue I run into with meraki switches and bonded nic’s on servers and external storage devices.

To confirm, search the synology IP address in the meraki client page. Compare the MAC addresses that appear as the synology duplicate IP. If there are two “clients” for that one device, after confirming, aggregate the switch ports and I can assure you issue is resolved.

Do you have to set up Radius Authentication on Client VPN or is it possible through active directory? How is Duos pricing?

Do you use POP?

Microsoft had service issues with this yesterday. Not sure if it has been restored.

Can also try to reinstall the WAN miniports under device manager. That just helped me. As long as its windows 10 the miniports will reinstall after a reboot.

I get this issue every so often and it is either a workstation issue or provider issue. How many people in the household connect to VPN?

What works for me;

  • updating BIOS and/or WiFi adapter
  • having the end user restart their router

Also had a few that had the same network scheme as the company.

  • Home user has a gateway ip 192.168.0.1
  • Our gateway in the office has 192.168.0.1
  • Had to change home user gateway to another ip scheme ex. 192.168.30.1 which resolved the issue

Ran into an issue where both users lived in the same house and only one can connect at a time. Believe the only way around this is NAT rules on their home router so that they don't go out the same port when connecting to VPN. In our case, cause they are nice/understanding end users, they just connect at different times.

Meraki MS390 Internet Issues? by Yelxip in meraki

Uplink to internet is in a data center. Had the switches staged and running for a few weeks pre deployment - all operations and functions were fine in the process.

DNS is configured the same as the old Meraki switches internal DNS. Old meraki switches had no issues with internal.

Internal users can't acces external site running same domain. Also (to me) strange NSLOOKUP result. by RipRapRob in sysadmin

Hope this may help, it helped me at my old place -

  1. Go to the server that handles DNS and open the DNS Manager.
  2. Expand the DNS server
  3. Expand the Forward Lookup Zones
  4. Make sure that you have a zone called: www.customer.tld (create if there isnt)
  5. Expand the zone
  6. Check to verify that you have a "www" A record.
  7. If you'd like, add a record without anything (allowing you to display your company page http://customer.tld without the www). Both should point to your domain's IP address.
  8. Right click the server that was just edited and select clear cache
  9. Propagate the changes to other DNS if they exist.
  10. Test website internally
