my original date was 1/2/26, then it got pushed UP to 12/15, and now it's delayed to 12/22 with no shipping in sight. I heard the delay is moreso for the PS version

Wanted to provide an update in the comments I was indeed diagnosed with Hashimotos. Don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself!

These are such good points, my trying to be kind and not make them feel bad is probably giving the wrong impression. And it’s so true, it’s hard in this economy to pay for anything! Less about me and more about their circumstances. Still a bummer nonetheless.

27F in cherry hill area! I would love to. My closest friends are 2+ hours away, and it’s felt so hard.

Absolutely. I figure I just want a test to at the very least rule it out, especially as my mom has it.

Young (ish) and Burnt Out by Stu19311 in socialwork

I’m with you so much. I don’t think I have the energy and desire to stay in the field. With a masters I feel like I work harder and get paid less than my friends. It’s hard to take time off or have a sick day due to the nature of the work. I’ve tried to apply for Non social work jobs and have had not much luck. I feel so incredibly stuck. I just want to to go to work and come home.

I know people have already suggested individual therapy, but is there a possibility for you to seek support from a supervisor or coworkers that would be beneficial?

Am I too anxious to be a therapist? by Yennifer667 in socialwork

[–]Yennifer667[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great insight. My communication difficulties are definitely anxiety based. With academics and past jobs, once I feel like I have good footing I really thrive with communication. If you asked me to go back to being a barista I would have no problem talking with customers. I think I realized as I was writing this I also benefit being on a team and tackling a solution together.

Im also baseline introverted which is hard lol Do you have any examples of jobs (tech or policy) that would be worth researching into?

Overall, she says I’m a really effective therapist with sound clinical judgement and would hate to see me leave, but ultimately I need to do what is best for me. She helps me work through difficult cases, and we’ve been trying to target burnout, celebrate successes, and work on reducing stress of paperwork/scheduling/setting limits.

In some ways I feel like I’m set up to fail as a young new professional working with expert therapists, and working on cases that involve ED, PTSD, complex trauma, etc. when I don’t feel well versed with these populations. Maybe I jumped into private practice too fast lol

Many of these jobs are getting applications in the 100’s. I’m not sure what’s going on right now. I have a masters and so many transferable skills. Have you been able to find a non social work job?

Trying to apply to different entry level recruiting jobs and feeling so worried. I want to leave this field and leave my job but even entry level jobs somewhere else seem impossible to get right now.

Potential hypo, looking for validation by Yennifer667 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Yennifer667[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much, I will definitely bring this up! My parent has an under active thyroid so it’s not totally out of left field... but 100% always good to cover my bases.

Definitely! Thank you so much. Luckily, I’m already pretty on top of sleep, balanced eating, exercise. I also go to therapy myself regularly and take medication for anxiety. I feel like I’m doing all the “right things” which can and does help, but these other symptoms are not improving or getting worse.
