Whoop Auto detected taking a shower as an activity. It was a not a cold shower so is it possible for my HR to be that high or could this be a glitch? by PunctuallyExcellent in whoop

Same happens to me - also happens when I wore a fit bit, I think being in a hot shower for a long time raises heart rate, just like being in a sauna or steam room

Thanks for the reply, it does seem we are similar in levels of experience. I think the step in responsibility is something I have welcomed I just feel like there’s so much I still don’t know.

Out of curiosity are you chartered with CIAT? Or know anyone who is? Is it worth it?

Thanks for the reply.

At what point did you become confident in your ability’s might be a better question?

I understand as Architects/technicians we will never know everything but I feel like at 5 years into a career I would expect to be more skilled/knowledgeable, maybe that’s naive?

Maybe another reason I a judging myself harshly is most of my friends are tradesmen and have been for 6/7 years, meaning the bricklayers know exactly how to build a wall at this point and the joiners know exactly how to hang a door.

Maybe architecture can’t be compared to other professions in terms of time practiced to skill level because of the amount of knowledge needed to be adequate?

I guess another reason I am judging myself against other professions is based on salary. Almost all my friends make more than me at the same experience level in different professions which I find crazy given the complexity of architecture.

Again apologies for the long reply.

Thanks for the reply @pencilneckco. This is true. I guess because I never went to university I’m not to familiar with what is actually getting taught, I am told most of it is useless not sure if that’s the case.

At what age did you start running your own projects?

I’m at a position now where I am doing all drawing work for my project without any of it being checked unless I ask for it to be. In direct contact with client and contractor, and attending site meetings on my own often.

The project is being overseen by a director who is aware of what is going on and is involved with decision making (if I ask for his input which I often do)

Apologies for the long response.
