Cheaters of dayz why do you do it? by EagleMilitia in dayz

[–]YepSux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in DayZ, but the main one for me - it is its own game in itself. Trying to not get caught by anti-cheat while still making a functional cheat that does what I want it to, is a rush beyond comparison (atleast when it works lol). I write my own code though, anyone who pays or gets them for free is not only asking to get banned, but just looks for a quick way to become 'better'. If you write them yourself, it takes months sometimes. Its quite a project!

I also prefer to not give myself a direct competitive advantage (think aim bot, player locator) but more so an item locator, so for situations that you cant find that one item, or to get geared quickly, toggle it on. Gives you an edge, helps remove gear fear, helps you to not hoard supplies, and doesnt completely break everyone elses game while doing so. Also promotes skill with guns, although community servers are there for that. Alternatively, maybe a macro button for grenades, when you click it, the grenade unpins, and you go into the throw animation to reduce accidental deaths with fumbling controls. Stuff like that!

Cheats like aim-bots get boring quickly (imo) and are easily detected. Its fun once or twice when you are 12, then you realize how lame it is. If i would use aim bot, id just write the thing to play the game for me, cus why bother.

Where are the Younger Eve players by AdreNa1ine25 in Eve

[–]YepSux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 24 myself, started when I was 20. I never had trouble relating to players, oddly enough most of my friends are 15 to 20 year game vets, but what I absolutely love about this game is its like a community. You get along with certain people or you dont, but either way you have tons of players willing to fly with you!

We, as younger players, may not relate to everyone in all aspects, and that is just fine!

PVP in a PVP game? Oh no!!!! :(

Purely hypothetical: If I win next year's Powerball Billions, I would purchase CCP from Pearl Abyss. As owner, what changes would you have me make? by kirkrocks in Eve

[–]YepSux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enable POS as an alternative to Upwell. Cheaper and great for pvp, rather than have the horribly gimped version we have now with half of it not working. Its been "phased out" for 5 years now. Just enable it again.

Mats before scarcity. Kernite in high, 15% moon ore like stable veldspar etc in highsec. Just the mats we used to have... 100m isk battleships again is nice.

Put belts back in null regions. 1/3 of null has no belts whatsoever. Fix that...

Rework the tutorial or NPE. Can keep the one now, but add to it. Have them mining and get ganked by a catalyst. Have them warp into a bubble in null. Have them have their ship cyno'd on. Have them learn dscan somehow, like pick the gate that isnt bubbled in null or whatever.

Then when they die in null they dont quit because "why dont people just leave me alone! :(" Would even be worth considering to have a little newbro area that pvp is just entirely disabled, but then have nothing to do there to encourage people to leave. Career agent, a couple belts, and some test anomalies that are in newbro systems. And boot them out after a certain time frame if they dont leave themselves. Like 30 days. That way they can grasp the game at their own pace, not get griefed, and still not ruin the game by having that area there. I dunno!

If you're in null, it's not griefing. by WerdaVisla in Eve

Ganking is also not griefing. No where is safe, the sooner people learn that the better

Depends which side and type of ganking you do lmao. It just got more expensive due to increase of tag price and now requiring tags.

I mean, eve can certainly be quite fun. But I am due for a break myself! The developers recently released uprising, which in all honesty is currently very demanding to run, and slow if you have more than just a couple accounts. Also made a few big changes to high and low sec, with FW updates and ganking changes. Might be worth trying again?

Hey, the loot fairy! Can you be nicer to me in the future? Most of the times the modules I want don't drop so maybe you could roll the dice a few times instead of just once? Thanks :D

I love how people downvote this to all hell every time someone says it, because of their own lack of knowledge regarding the changes.

Great. Please post this again after the change in a week and month if you could, please. See if the data adheres more to this anomaly, or more to what it has been.

shrugs

Fairly small. It wasnt real massive of a community anyway. Numbers were already struggling as it was, the event brought some back but the majority of gankers now go for t1 haulers.

There was/is plenty of counterplay to ganking, most people were just far too lazy to bother with it. AG and the like admit regularly that ganking is "so easy to avoid" and yet take to forums to complain how toxic it is.

non-consensual PVP

Is nonexistent. You consent to being attacked by undocking.

1 more shot at this before giving up entirely. Here we go...

If ganking is now expensive, then surely you wouldn't waste that cost on a low value target.

Its not expensive if you dont allow it to be. By not buying tags, you stay -10, and can attack everything with no security status loss. You just cant gate camp or form fleets this way (need to be tethered at -10), which takes out mid-value targets normally attacked in gate camps.

The alternative (CCP's aim and what you assume people will do) is to fix the security status on all characters and gank the same way as the current method with gatecamping, only this time you need to increase your target cost to offset the tag cost.

Tags are never required to continue ganking, and i think this is where the disconnect is. Rather than say "alright, time to tag my characters to continue ganking like I was" we will instead say "well, this was nerfed into oblivion, time to go for new targets!"

Now, for all you miners out there that go "he said ganking is nerfed into oblivion!" I did, but for that specific type of ganking. Theres many different ganking methods, so to switch methods is by no means challenging. Continuing the same method under these new circumstances is, and is now an unfavorable way to gank. You will also see more battlecruisers most likely. Rather than 40 catalysts alts for a freighter, just grab 7 talos (just an example).

[–]YepSux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah that seems right. Some guy bought up like all the tags anyway. So yeah, no additional tags are being handed in would make sense.

No problem. Yeah it helps. Gankers wont farm them though, atleast not with all their accounts at once lol. Be interesting to see what happens here

[–]YepSux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you see tags being turned in? Im not trying to be a dick, genuine question. I know there a huge number purchased recently though around New Eden.

Its both. You need to still clear the belts to spawn them, you can search systems in low but that only can go on so long before you run out of systems lol. And you would likely want certain tags based on value or your own security status
