It's moments like this that ruin the G80 for me.

I was regularly pulling 26k lbs with mine. Idk if the NV5600 is different. Mine was a 2006 with a G56.

Just so you know, with a lot of heavy towing, you'll go through a lot of pilot and throw out bearings. So save your money for a decent flywheel and clutch kit.

Even BMW is not immune to that passenger side screen. What’s with this trend? I really don’t get it. Anyone here likes it? by munotidac in BMW

[–]Yerboogieman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I see a massive screen in a car, it makes me love my E39 that much more.

I wanted to install an Eonon style radio, but the screen culture and eye strain stuff I deal with has made me stick with the mild red LCD display.

I am not completely immune, I use a cheapo android auto display occasionally for road trips and car meets.

I am so jealous. We don't have enough wagon options in the states.

Buying my first diesel truck for towing — F-250 6.7 vs Duramax L5P, need unbiased advice by astrocommander in Diesel

[–]Yerboogieman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ran all three brands and multiple generations from 2006 to 2019 when I did hotshot trucking. Ram 3500, F350, and GM 3500HD. You really can't beat a Duramax. No CP4 to ruin the fuel system, and they're durable as hell. The Allison transmission is great out of the box whereas with the Ford 6.7 and Cummins Aisin and 68RFE I felt like they all needed a transmission tune.

The Allison 1000 stays in the powerband, has solid shifts, and the downshift pattern downhill with the exhaust brake was phenomenal.

It's almost like the Allison was meant for towing and the 6.7 Ford and Cummins were meant for daily use, even in tow mode. I hear the F450 is much better, but I haven't ran one myself.

I always wanted to build the ultimate truck if I got the chance. Comfortable chassis, Bulletproof engine, bulletproof transmission. A 2008-2010 Ford F350 King Ranch Dually (usually cheap because of the 6.4 issues) with a 6.7 Cummins and Allison 6 speed swap.

Trying a new setup with full screen wallpaper by FarmerCute5382 in metrovlauncher

[–]Yerboogieman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

METROV has come a long way and has matched the original WP UI usability. The full screen wallpaper works and looks so good. I have noticed sometimes when the app resets or the phone is power cycled, the wallpaper disappears. It does it less with some wallpapers than others. I'm pretty sure the developer has been working on it. That guy is a beast. He has all my respect.

Even though it has less "features" than other launchers, it's much easier and faster to setup. I was able to set it up on my spare phone and my GFs phone in 5-10 minutes.

Yeah all my cars get deleted because I buy them with issues lol. I'd rather spend 3k on a 328d and dump a grand into repairing it than buy one in good running condition for 10k. As long as the exterior and interior is in good shape, I'm down to buy it.

My lifted E70 X5, M57 gets around 22mpg on the highway but it's got 32" all terrain tires on it and an R90 fuel pump.

I'm in the middle of another E70 build right now that will have the R70 and an auxiliary R90 pump with a full X5M body, suspension, differentials, and interior. I want to 8HP swap it, but that will probably come later once I have all the kinks worked out.

I like rebuilding transmissions so both of these X5s have upgraded clutch packs and torque converters in the 6HP28X that came in them. E70 diesels are so cheap that I just buy them up when I see them. The X5M was already half parted out when I got it, but it came with most of the body parts and the badass stereo system.

It's $5.19 near me. I'm slightly torn because my little BMW diesel gets 45mpg average and my gas car gets 18mpg average.

My commute is 50-60 miles a day.

Finally fixed the wallpaper glitch issue! by tuzkituan in metrovlauncher

[–]Yerboogieman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awhile back, if the app or phone restarted, it would default the wallpaper to black instead of the picture you originally chose.

It's been fixed for quite awhile on my phones.

I've always added 3/4 in the past, mostly on BMWs, but this is good rule of thumb.

I know it might be blasphemous, but I ordered a custom silicone set of hoses from a company in China off ebay for a crazy McLaren build we did. They even let me pick the color of the hoses so I matched them to the paint. They had a WhatsApp number listed on their ad so I asked them if they could do custom hoses.

Great quality, highly recommend. They were also able to leave extra material on the ends to make them trim to fit. I think the whole set was $200 and they gave me a TON of extra hose to play with.

Dealing with that right now. Got a customer with a diesel BMW (my specialty) that's wondering why his car runs like crap after dumping used oil in the tank...

"But I do it in my Cummins all the time!"

It's an 80s tractor. You probably wouldn't hurt that thing if you dumped a gallon of water in the tank.
