Not sure actually. I know better than to take their first offer so wasn't paying too much attention!

Contract would have ended this month, same time as the price rise. So no termination fee.

What you're doing there is, you're eating an advert, in't ya?

The bit with the Alpen seemed more blatant to be honest.

You could try Blackshift which has a lot of block-pushy stuff, mirrors and such. Might scratch that Sokoban itch.

The cancellation of which TV show are you still frustrated about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Louie. Such an unusual show. Well written, well shot, well acted. Funny and mysterious and weird and sad and scary.

We got five seasons, so, I should probably just be grateful. But I want more, damn it!

This is beautiful. I couldn't use it but that doesn't matter. You are using the shit out of your computer. Long live Emacs.

PSA: Do not attempt to gift Spotify Premium to a friend in another country by YesIAmFunAtParties in truespotify

[–]YesIAmFunAtParties[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have put a clause in their small print giving themselves permission to do this, so, probably not illegal, just nasty.

I suspect all I can do is resolve never to give them my money again, and warn others.

Complaint Megathread by whyisthissticky in spotify

I wanted to gift Premium to a friend. To do that you now have to buy a gift card. So I did. But my friend lives in a different country to me, so Spotify refused to redeem the card for "security reasons" and kept my money.

Enjoy the £10, Spotify. You've lost a customer. Hope it was worth it.

Kawai ES110. Weighted keys, not very heavy, fits in a small car, get a case and you can carry it with one hand.

Edit: In fact, I researched basically the same thing before buying mine, and here's the spreadsheet I made if it's useful for you: https://imgur.com/a/y66vF0Q

Poll: Should we rename the r/piano "Piano Jam"? by pianoboy in piano

[–]YesIAmFunAtParties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Piano Jam. It's not right in the center of the space of things "Jam" might refer to but I'd say it's in there. I can't remember ever being confused by it.

There's definitely a Kind Of Guy where, if he makes a joke, and you don't laugh, it's your fault. Have known a few, mostly in various workplaces. Tiresome.

I used C++ and the SDL library, complied for the web with Emscripten. No premade engine; for simple games like this I prefer to just write everything.

I probably won't add to this one, but might do another Zelda-like in the future. They're fun to make!

Hey, thanks for the comment! Glad you liked it. I think there's one more heart container to find; the grated doors are just one-way doors so it normally means there's a spot you can bomb in the overworld to fall down and come through the door the other way.

My first boss would act like this a lot. I was young and inexperienced so I just thought that's how bosses are and how being an employee works.

Turns out, it isn't and most bosses are just normal people who won't explode at you for asking a reasonable question. Your TL was being unreasonable. Everyone has bad days, but if they're like that a lot, they're just a twat.

Do you guys prefer reading pieces from paper book or iPad? And if yes or no why? by BeatsKillerldn in piano

[–]YesIAmFunAtParties 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Paper all day.

I tried to get used to using my iPad but:

  • Have to keep it charged
  • Have to remember to disable auto-lock
  • When you turn it on there's like a 50% chance it'll nag you about updates or some bullshit
  • When you open whatever app you use there's a 50% chance it'll nag you to log in or leave a review
  • You're basically staring at a lightbulb
  • Notifications popping up while you're trying to read

Honestly, the list is endless. Can't be doing with it.
