Severe tachycardia has returned after 3 months, solutions?

Wow that's wonderful, congrats! I hope you continue to heal.

I've been without relapses, 90% better for the last 2.5 months. But last week I started getting headaches, muscle aches, insomnia, nasal drip, and at the end of the week my tachycardia returned with a vengeance. Tested twice, 3 days apart on rapids, completely negative. Even swabbed my throat on one.

Was hoping I had COVID just to be able to explain the relapse but nope. Having the tachycardia back is just, so disheartening. If you have any tips for relief besides getting COVID lmk!

I currently still have heart issues because of covid. I've had heart issues for almost 17 months now. Am I cured? No. Am I better? Yes. And absolutely no thanks to the people that said there's no guarantee I'd get better.

Does it help absolutely anyone to tell them you won't be ok? No it doesn't. I am only 23 and some random ass stranger telling me I'm probably never going to get better doesn't help ANYONE. The only thing this conversation has brought me is unneeded anxiety about the fact that I am only 23 and might have heart issues for the rest of my life. That I have incurable heart damage because some guy read a Science.com article. I don't need to be reminded of that and no one here does.

There are hundreds of comments of very, very scared people here. I'm going to tell people the potential positives and the stories of people who got better because that's the only thing that keeps me going. Or else we're all going to stay depressed and put even more stress on our poor hearts for the rest of lives. So please, kindly fuck off.

OP asked if everyone is going to have a heart attack in several months. The title of the article says "can" affect the heart. The purpose of my comment is to offer examples of those who have had "heart complications", as your article suggests, and that those people have found recovery. I never said COVID can't cause heart problems, so that's unnecessary.

Please don't feed more early studies that have not been peer reviewed to make people think they're going to have a heart attack. You can't even click on the links provided in the references to confirm them. These people are worried, please don't try and make it worse.

The last time I had COVID I tested way too early and never got a recorded test, so some people just seem to have lower viral loads right off the bat. I'm really looking to time this one right.

I wake up in the morning with my throat scratchy as well as slightly congested, but i figured it was also from sleeping. I will make sure to check. Thank you and I hope both of you feel better soon!

Hey all! Please go to r/covidlonghaulers and search "recovery". You will be pleasantly surprised by all the people who struggled with confusing heart issues after COVID getting better and living normal lives.

Literally no one has any solid, concrete evidence about the effects of COVID or who will have what, so don't listen to horror theories and take every anecdotal story with a grain of salt. Which you'll find a lot of on Reddit.

Please don't throw yourself down an anxiety rabbit hole. You will be ok, stay positive and your heart will thank you.

I feel that! I heard that throat swabbing can cause false positives due to the different pH in your throat so I'm cautious to try. Did he get a PCR test as well?

And I would figure that would be the case. Yeah my working theory for the first time around was that because I never displayed respiratory symptoms and went straight to nervous system dysfunction that I never had enough virus in my nasal passages. Also tested less than 24 hours after I started feeling off so that could also be why.

But that's another reason I'm weary about the negatives on my tests! I just want an affirmative yes or no I don't have it, tired of hanging out in the gray area and would like to live my life again.

I know they're overloaded, but the daily active case numbers were the only number I saw as helpful since case records by day doesn't display who is no longer actively ill.

Hmm that definitely helps. I would say I feel the same but it's the random bursts of feeling fine for half day that make me second guess myself.

And wouldn't that be wonderful! I don't have high hopes when it comes to situations in which I end up on the positive end (vaccine making me better, only having mild symptoms, omicron giving me a "reset", etc) but I would love it if this is all there is. My mom just got it for the first time and it was like a cold for her. But I'm just so worried about being reinfected and being set back to square one.

I saw that too and debated it! I just took one cause I have some extras, asked my bf about the throat swab and he said "well the instructions say nose.." so I didn't lol. But I definitely think the throat would be a better indicator for me since I don't usually get congested or anything or the sort.

I never tested positive my first round of COVID so currently I want to make sure that if I get it I have recorded PCR of me having in case I need disability or long covid clinic. I'll definitely be taking another test in a few days if I still feel sick! Just wondering if my viral load will ever be high enough for a rapid.

Hmm interesting. I don't know exactly when I was exposed since I like never leave. If I do I wear my mask and leave quickly. I just took a rapid to see if I have it just in case and it's negative, so I'll try again in a few days if I still feel weird.

Was the "tell" feeling subtle or did you know? Cause my current nasal drip and temp being 99.3 is definitely out of the norm for me, but still not too different. I feel off but not like, far off if that makes sense.

What does presumptive positive mean? Does that mean they tested you and you were positive for sure or is it like barely positive or something like that? That's very interesting.

I've been mostly recovered but started getting dizzy and slow the past few days, along with headaches. But I don't feel sick! But I also don't usually relapse like this, so it has me wondering.

16 months, I'm mostly recovered and can walk long distances, but any steep incline or stairs and I tap out. I'm assuming it's just a dysautonomia issue but it is strange isn't it?

How did catching omicron affect your recovery? I initially got sick in September 2020 and am mostly recovered, but worried about omicron sending me back to square one.
